New Horror Game APPARITION Will Have A Leaderboard

Horror games continue to come up with new situations for players to face head on. It seems more often than not we are put in these problematic scenarios without a weapon or means of defending ourselves. One could argue that this is exactly what makes a horror game even scarier; giving the feeling of helplessness as you attempt to complete your job.

Tasked with the job of a paranormal investigator, Apparition by MrCiastku will bring you into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. While trying to capture evidence of the horrific atrocities that occurred in Green Creek, you will need to also plan how to escape with your life before becoming the next victim of the haunted land.

Apparition looks to be a “survival as long as you can” type game with unlockable upgrades rewarded to players for brave acts and a leaderboard for players to climb. It’s rare to see a horror game with a leaderboard, challenging players to be braver than each other and come out with the highest score. But what’s more important: your life or your score?

Planned to release this Halloween, exactly on October 31st on Steam, will you have the courage to take first place?

WB Hiring Chris Columbus and Tim Story To Develop New SCOOBY-DOO and TOM AND JERRY Movies

Warner Bros. has big plans for Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry. They are moving forward with new animated feature films for these properties and thy’ve hired top talent to lead the charge on them.

According to Variety, the studio is bring on Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Shaft) to direct Tom and Jerry and Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, Home Alone) to be a creative producer on the Scooby-Doo movie. Tom and Jerry will be a live-action/animated hybrid and Scooby-Doo will be animated.

The report goes on to say that the studio “understands how much of its history is rooted in these iconic characters, and wants to give them as much attention as DC and Harry Potter projects.” That’s great to hear! I love these properties and it would be great to see them get awesome film franchises that the fans will enjoy.

It’s also explained that the studio is looking to have the animation and live-action creative teams working closely together on these new projects:

Warner Bros. is aiming for a balance of animated features and live-action hybrids, and in a rare move, the studio has made a concerted effort to make sure the animation and live-action teams are working hand in hand in developing these projects, something rarely seen at other studios. Executives also understand that for the animation to be strong for the hybrid projects, the VFX some studios use won’t work as well as going through the animation process, starting with storyboarding the characters, instead of pre-vis, to help develop each individual’s arc.

It’s good to see them putting in effort to ensure they deliver the best quality films that they can. Apparently, Story is a big fan of Tom and Jerry as well and he is excited about directing the film. Fans of Tom and Jerry will also be happy to hear that the characters won’t talk in the film:

Sources also say that since Tom and Jerry didn’t speak and relied on physical comedy to draw laughs, this version will stick to that style and not cast actors to voice the duo.

Tom and Jerry is expected to be the first live-action hybrid to go into production and they are looking to shoot in 2019. The other major live-action hybrid expected to go into production at WB soon is the sequel to Space Jam with LeBron James. They are also developing a Wile E. Coyote vs. ACME hybrid feature, with Chris McKay from the Lego universe helping develop it.

As far as Scooby-Doo goes, it’s expected to be released in early 2020. Columbus’ interest in this film started while he was developing the Gremlins reboot. Insiders say his “affection for the character and WB animation was apparent, and he was soon asked to join the production as a creative producer working side by side with director Tony Cervone.”

The studio is also developing a Jetsons animated movie with Matt Lieberman and Sausage Party director Conrad Vernon. They are also working on The Flintstones and Wacky Races movies.

The studio obviously has big plans to ramp up their animation film divisions. Hopefully the film project turn out as good as they are hoping. Are you excited about these Tom and Jerry and Scooby-Doo films?

Viggo Mortensen is Set Make His Directorial Debut with FALLING, Which He’ll Also Star In

Viggo Mortensen is set to write, produce, star in a film project called Falling, which he’ll also make his directorial debut with. Like many of you, I’m a big fan of Mortensen and the films that he’s made over the years and it’s pretty exciting to see that he’s making the leap into the directors chair! The cast also includes Lance Henriksen and Sverrir Gudnason (The Girl in the Spider’s Web).

The film tells the story of a son’s relationship with his aging father. “Mortensen will portray a man who lives with his male partner and their adopted daughter in Southern California. Henriksen will play a farmer whose attitudes and behavior belong to a far more traditional era and family model. When the father travels to Los Angeles for an indefinite stay with his family in order to search for a place to retire, these two very different worlds collide.”

HanWay Films managing director Gabrielle Stewart had this to say in a statement:

“The industry has always regarded Viggo as a really soulful artist. He is a talented photographer, poet, and musician. His screenplay for ‘Falling’ is a powerful, well-observed family drama. We are thrilled to be part of his promising and exciting directorial debut.”

Mortensen will next be seen in the fantastic looking drama Green Book alongside Mahershala Ali. Are you happy to see Mortensen move into directing?

A Young Boy is Haunted By a Monster in This Fantastically Creepy Short Film FATHER

With it being the Halloween season, I’m always looking for short horror films to share. I haven’t found many good ones this year, but I’ve finally got one that I’m excited to share with you because it’s a fantastic short that is genuinely creepy!

The film is called Father and it tells the story of a young boy who lives with his mother who does not give him the attention he needs. A dark monster is conjured by the neglect inflicted on her son. This isn’t the father figure that the boy is looking for.

The film comes from Chris Keller, who also directed the horror short 20 HZ that I shared a few years ago. Father is a great follow-up horror film and I think you’re gonna enjoy it. Check it out below!

This New AQUAMAN “Fish Boy” TV Spot Offers Up Some More Cool Footage

“Hey buddy, you that fish boy from the TV?”

A new TV spot for Aquaman has surfaced from the depths of the ocean and it features a few more bits of exciting new footage from the film. There’s footage of Arthur Curry (Jason Mamoa) being confronted by a group of bar patrons. We see Mera (Amber Heard) and Arthur driving through Atlantis in their water vessel, and we also get to see Mera show off water bending powers.

I like what I’ve seen from this movie so far visually and I really hope that director James Wan managed to build a solid story for this character.

Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.

Aquaman also Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison (Green Lantern) as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables films) as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (The Get Down) as Black Manta; Ludi Lin (Power Rangers) as Murk; with Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring films, Watchmen) as Orm/Ocean Master; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna. Here's the synopsis:

Aquaman is set to be released December 21, 2018.

Review: THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE is a Beautifully Made Terrifying Horror Drama

The Haunting of Hill House might just be one of the best things created in the horror genre that I’ve ever seen in both film and TV. It’s definitely one of my favorites and I think horror fans will love it.

I’m a big fan of Shirley Jackson’s classic 1959 horror novel that the Netflix series is based on and I’ve enjoyed the film adaptations that have been made over the years. But, this series took that story and created something incredible that I wasn’t expecting.

Not only was the series terrifying, but it was filled with so much heart and emotion. You get to really know the characters in this story and as the story plays out and you get to learn about them and what they went through. The series really makes you care for these characters and I loved the story that revolves around them. It’s really quite powerful.

I know I’m talking a lot about story, characters, and emotion, but that’s because those are the things that really make a great series or film! All of that is also wrapped up with dark and nightmarishly terrifying scares! The combination of all these things give us a unique experience.

This isn’t a non-stop horror fest. There’s the perfect amount of horror scattered throughout this heavy family drama that tackles all kinds of issues from mental illness, to addiction, to loss, and several other struggles of life. There are a lot of things in the series that people will be able to relate to.

I also loved how the horror aspects of the series just weren’t thrown in for the sake of scaring people. The horror that was used all played a very important part of the story. Everything just flowed so well together and the horror drove the story forward in such a wonderful way. The creative team used the scares properly.

I’ve never watched a horror movie that moved me to tears before, but The Haunting of Hill House did that. There were a few episodes were I was just overcome by emotion, but the ending of the series broke me down. There were a few things in the story that hit close to home, so that might have helped bring on the waterworks, but regardless, it affected me in ways that I wasn’t expecting.

There are ten episodes in the series and everyone of them was an amazing experience to watch. But I have to say that my three very favorites were episodes 6, 7, and 10. There were certain aspects of these episodes that just jumped out at me. I don’t want to spoil what those are for you, but just know that when those episodes come around while you watch the series, there’s something special that I saw in them that kind of blew my mind in different ways.

Everything about this series including the writing, directing, cinematography, and acting was incredible. The talent that was brought into develop this series was top notch and they should all be proud of what they accomplished.

The Haunting of Hill House is a beautifully made nightmare that delivers heartfelt horror. You’ve got to watch this series! You seriously don’t want to miss out on something that is so close to perfection.

The series comes from director Mike Flanagan (Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game) and this is the synopsis that was released for it:

The series will explore a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.

The series stars Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones), Carla Gugino (Gerald’s Game), Timothy Hutton (All The Money In The World), Elizabeth Reaser (Twilight), Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Healer), Henry Thomas (Better Things), Kate Siegel (Hush) and Victoria Pedretti (Sole).

If you’ve already watched the series are are currently watching it, what do you think!? If yiou haven’t started watching it yet, you need to!

A Batmobile Has Been Spotted on the Set of JOKER and Here’s a Video

A new video from the set of Joker has surfaced and it features a Batmobile! Now, what makes this even more interesting is that it’s not just any Batmobile, it’s the classic 1960s version that Adam West was driving around!

I have no idea how this would fit into the story. But, maybe it will just be used as an Easter egg in the background? After all, as far as we know, Batman isn’t even around when this movie takes place. Who knows what is going on with this Batmobile, but it’s definitely interesting to see it on the set of the film. Maybe it’s nothing, but it was on the set of the film.

I also included a few other photos from the set of the film as well featuring Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker on the run.

Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Todd Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott SilverJoker stars Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, Shea Whigham, and Robert De Niro.

Joker will be released in theaters on October 4, 2019.

Kristen Stewart Enters an Ugly Sweater Contest in First CHARLIE’S ANGELS Set Photos

The first series of photos have surfaced from the set of director Elizabeth BanksCharlie’s Angels and they feature our first look at Kristen Stewart as one of the Angels in action! She’s also wearing one hell of an ugly sweater that could win her an ugly sweater contest award! I guess some people might think that’s stylish, but it’s still ugly. Will an ugly sweater ruin the movie? Of course not! But a bad story and script will. Hopefully, that’s not the case with this Charlie’s Angels remake.

Now, did I write this article to rant about an ugly sweater? You’re damn right, I did!

“Since the original films, The Townsend Agency has grown considerably and gone global, providing security and intelligence services to a wide variety of private clients with offices and highly-trained teams worldwide. This film focuses on one of those teams.”
