The First Clip For THE VENTURE BROS. Season 7 Features The Team Conjuring a Demon

"Yo, Demon! No mammas!"

Adult Swim has released the first clip for the long-awaited seventh season of The Venture Bros.! I hate that it takes so damn long to get new seasons of this show, but at least it's coming. And judging by this clip it looks like the return of the series will be well worth the wait.

As you'll see in the clip, it looks like the gang got themselves into some kind of situation involving a mystical seance. The purpose of it is to conjure a demon so that they can do battle with it!

I can't wait to see what other adventures are in store for the characters next season!

The Venture Bros. is Adult Swim's fan-favorite parody of the great action/adventure cartoons of yesteryear. Tune in to watch Dr. "Rusty" Venture and his twin boys, Hank and Dean, as they clash against arch-enemies, killer mutants, invading aliens and more. Joining them is a massive pantheon of incredible characters like Brock Samson, Dr. Orpheus, The Monarch, Sgt. Hatred, Henchman 21, and so many more that it would be unwise to attempt a full list. Kick danger right in the sweet meats by watching The Venture Bros. at

The Venture Bros. Season 7 will premiere on Adult Swim on August 5th.

X-FORCE Director Drew Goddard On How He Will Handle The Film’s Characters and Humor

Director Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) is hard at work on developing his X-Force film that will bring together Deadpool, Cable, Domino, and a few other heroes to save the world from some kind of evil villain.

We thought that team would consist of Bedlam, Shatterstar, The Vanisher, and  Zeitgeist but they were all hilariously killed off in Deadpool 2. I have no idea who the new team will entail, but I imagine Firefist, Colossus, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead might be a part of it. When previously talking about what happened in Deadpool 2, Goddard said he was completely on board with it:

"One thing I said to Ryan was, ‘Don’t worry about it, we’ll come up with new ideas; you guys go make your movie, and do your thing. We’ll figure it out.' That tends to be the way I like to work. It’s much more important to focus on making the movie that you’re making than focusing on the next thing. It’s much more important to just make one good movie and take your time, then let that dictate what the movies are after."

Regardless of who ends up being on the X-Force team in the upcoming film, Goddard knows how he wants to approach them and the humor that will be brought to the movie. The one thing he wants to focus on first is to get the audience emotionally invested with the characters. He wants to make sure you care about them. While talking to /Film, the filmmaker was asked "how he was planning to reconcile the joke-a-minute tone established in these films with a story that truly makes us care about characters like Deadpool, Domino, and Cable. Without missing a beat." Goddard said:

"The answer is, I don’t worry about the jokes. I just don’t. I worry about the characters, the story, and trust that we’ll make it funny. I did this show The Good Place, and I’ve been very lucky because I work with [creator] Mike Schur and I know, ‘Oh, these are the funniest people on the planet.’ So when I do anything like that, I just worry about the character, the emotion, and the story, and then I go call them and go, ‘Make it funny now!’ With Ryan, the same thing. Ryan Reynolds is so funny. You don’t stress out about it. It’s always easier to add jokes. It’s impossible to add emotion."

That's pretty great to learn that the team behind The Good Place will be punching up the humor in the film. The Good Place is a great and funny series. More importantly, it sounds like Goddard is going to deliver some strong character development.

The Seven Deadly Sins has been going strong in Japan with no word about when we can expect a release of the dub of the second season. However, if you’re needing some kind of fix, check out this brief trailer for the new movie Prisoners of the Sky. It gives us a look at the race of winged humans that will be featured in the film, and of course a look at most of the Sins.

We are in a world where the Fairies, Goddesses and Demons exist. The ones who saved the Liones kingdom that was on the brink of destruction following the Demons’ secret maneuvers were the legendary order of criminals and knights “the Seven Deadly Sins” and one princess. And some time has elapsed since the peace was brought to the Liones kingdom.

To celebrate the kingdom’s anniversary, the Seven Deadly Sins arrived at a border territory looking for an elusive ingredient, the sky fish. In the middle of searching it, their captain Meliodas and the pig Hawk who speaks the human language get sent up to the Sky Temple, the celestial world lying high in the sky, above clouds. The “Sky Winged ones” who possess wings dwell that temple. Meliodas was mistaken by them as the young boy who broke a law and thrown in jail. In the Sky Temple is being prepared the ceremony aimed at preventing the liberation of the fiendish beasts that were sealed away during three thousand years. But the group “Six Black Knights” led by Berlion turns up with designs against the Sky Winged ones’ lives in order to break the seal. To protect everyone from these inhumanely cruel guys, Meliodas and the others clash against the Six Black Knights.

The film will be in Japanese theaters starting August 18, 2018. No word on a western release yet, but I imagine it will show up at some point around the time we get the dub of season 2. My big question is whether this movie will be considered canon.

There’s Something Sinister in The Woods in This Creepy Trailer For DEAD NIGHT

"I was born and raised in these woods… I'll be just fine."

Yeah... right. We all know what happens when people think the woods is a good place to go on a relaxing vacation. Dark and sinister things happen and people die! That's the truth because it happens in every horror movie that is set in the woods!

We've got a creepy trailer for an upcoming horror film called Dead Night, and it actually looks like it's worth checking out. But that's coming from a guy who loves watching horror movies, even the bad ones. I like what I'm seeing in this trailer, though, it looks like it going to be a wildly eerie horror flick with some surprising twists and turns.

The movie stars Brea Grant (Heroes) and 80's horror icon Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, You're Next, From Beyond) and this is the synopsis:

James and his wife Casey load up their two teenage kids and head out to a remote cabin in Oregon for a weekend trip. When James heads into the snowy forest in search of firewood, he encounters an enigmatic woman passed out in the snow. Bringing her back to the cabin for help, the family has no way of knowing that the woman’s presence is the catalyst for a series of events that will change their lives forever.

This will is being directed by Brad Baruh who was the producer of the cult horror film John Dies at the End. Dead Night marks his directorial debut. The movie also stars AJ BowenSophie DalahElise Luthman, and Joshua Hoffman.

The movie will be released on July 27th.

Paul Feig is Set to Direct a Holiday Movie Called LAST CHRISTMAS From a Script By Emma Thompson

Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters director Paul Feig is attached to direct a new movie for Universal Pictures called Last Christmas for Universal from a screenplay co-written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings.

No details have been revealed on the plot. All we know at this point is that it will be a holiday romance film that is set in London.

I've enjoyed most of the films that Feig has made in his career, which also includes The Heat and Spy. Last Christmas seems like a movie that will fit his filmmaking and storytelling style perfectly.

I also love that Emma Thompson has written another script. She actually won an Oscar for Best Screenplay for the film Sense and Sensibility. She also wrote Nanny McPhee and Bridget Jones's Baby. I'm curious to see what this new film turns out to be.

Edgar Wright Says BABY DRIVER 2 Could Happen Soon!

Edgar Wright's Baby Driver was a hell of a fun film and I'd love to see a sequel for it! The director has already said the sequel will happen, but in a recent tweet, he hinted at the fact that it could happen soon, which is news that is sure to get fans revving with excitement!

In a previous interview with the filmmaker, he talked about the how the trying to get the sequel off the ground, saying:

"Those talks are already in the works. The deal is being hammered out as we speak. So, hopefully, I'm going to at least write a second one. I've definitely got lots of ideas. Whether it's the next movie, I don't know. I'm just working that out at the moment, actually. I have a couple of things that I've been developing, and also a couple of new ideas that I had, and all the nice things things that I've been offered since [the release of Baby Driver. I would like to get back on the saddle very shortly, because --- slightly beyond my control --- but there was four years between The World's End and Baby Driver. I don't want it to be that long again. I would love to have a film out in the next two years."

It's been a year since the first Baby Driver movie came out so if he has it his way, we'll get a Baby Driver sequel sometime next year.

I have no idea what the story for the sequel would entail, but I imagine it would focus on the continuing road adventures of Baby (Ansel Elgort) and Debora (Lilly James). It's not too hard to think that after Baby is released from prison, maybe someone from his past life of crime will catch up with him in some way and he'll once again find himself in a tight situation that he'll need to drive his way out of.

Regardless of what story Baby Driver 2 will tell, I'm pumped up for whatever Wright does end up bringing to it! What would you like to see in a Baby Driver sequel?

The Live-Action BLEACH Film Launches Its Best Trailer Yet

I am really getting excited for Bleach. I know a lot of people are not expecting it to be good, but I’ve heard great things about the Rurouni Kenshin live-action films and Hiroyoshi Koi worked on that and Bleach, so maybe this will also be great. That being said, a new trailer has been launched for Bleach and it’s the most cohesive one we’ve gotten yet. It really adds to my excitement and I’m digging the song “Mosquito Bite” by Alexandros that plays in each of these trailers. I hope we get a western release in the not too distant future, even if it’s just on Hulu or Netflix.

Bleach will hit Japanese theaters on July 20, 2018.

WESTWORLD Season 2 Ratings Were Down 30% From Season 1

Ratings were down 30% in Westworld's Season 2 finale (via Variety) when compared to Season 1, which is quite a drop for the HBO drama. Of course, sophomore slumps are nothing new on television, but there's definitely a question of what led so many people to tune out by the time the show was done with its 10-episode second season.

I don't know about you guys, but for me personally, this season was hard to watch. I understood what was happening when it was presented to me, but by the time some of the show's mysteries were revealed I was thinking back trying to remember their significance. In fact I got so caught up in the show's mysteries I really didn't take the time to enjoy the season at all, although it might just be that I didn't like this season.

Having said that I did like the ending, and I am excited to see where the series is headed going forward. What are your thoughts on Westworld Season 2, and why do you think so many people tuned out?

The Live-Action KIM POSSIBLE Movie Has Found Its Wade

In Kim Possible, Wade Load was the tech genius who arranged Kim’s missions and made her awesome gadgets. He was voiced by Tahj Mowry and was a fun character.

It appears that the live-action film that is in the works just cast Issac Ryan Brown from Raven’s Home in the role. I have not seen Brown in anything, so I can’t say he’s the perfect pick, but I have faith that he’ll do fine.

I’m still holding out hope that Patrick Warburton will be cast as Mr. Barkin. Brown is joining the growing cast that includes Alyson Hannigan as Dr. Ann Possible, Kim’s brain surgeon mother; Connie Ray (The Big C) as Nana Possible, Kim’s grandmother; Todd Stashwick (The Originals) as Dr. Drakken, Kim’s nemesis; Taylor Ortega as Shego, Dr. Drakken’s flame-fisted henchwoman; Erika Tham (Make It Pop) as Bonnie, Kim’s frenemy since childhood; and Ciara Wilson (Bizaardvark) as Athena, a new student at Kim’s school.

Kim Possible is set to premiere in 2019.

Krysten Ritter Will Make Her Directorial Debut With an Episode of JESSICA JONES Season 3

Marvel's Jessica Jones is currently in production on its third season. The series recently began shooting in New York City and this season, series star Krysten Ritter, will be making her directorial debut.

We don't know what episode she will be directing or any details on the story, but she's excited to get behind the camera! This is what she had to say in a statement:

"I am beyond thrilled to make my directorial debut on Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The entire crew and cast has become family to me, and I’m so appreciative of the opportunity to work with our incredible team in this new way. I am so grateful that Melissa Rosenberg, Jeph Loeb, Marvel, and Netflix entrusted me to take the reins."

I think it's pretty awesome that Ritter will get to direct an episode and I'm sure that this won't be the last time she directs something. Once she gets a taste of what's it's like to direct, she'll just want to keep doing it. Unless that is, this first time is a horrible experience for her.

No details on Season 3 have been revealed but it will continue to follow the troubling adventures of the hard-drinking, super-powered New York City private investigator. With a person that has had such a hard life, I imagine that Jessica Jones will still be trying to keep herself together, especially after what she went through in Season 2.

Season 3 will also see the return of Rachael Taylor as Jessica’s best friend Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as attorney Jeri Hogarth, and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Jessica’s neighbor and assistant.

Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has such a wonderful handle on this character and I can't wait to see what she has in store for Season 3.

I love this show and what showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has been doing with it and the characters. She's been handling it so well, and I'm excited to see what she has in store for the third season.
