Trailer For Matthew McConaughey’s True Crime Film WHITE BOY RICK about the Youngest Drug Kingpin in History

In 1980s Detroit, there was a young kid named Ricky Wershe Jr. who was a street hustler who rose up to become a drug kingpin and FBI informant all before he turned 16 years old. This upcoming film White Boy Rick tells that true story and today we have the first trailer for you to watch.

The movie stars Matthew McConaughey in the role of Ricky Wershe Jr.’s father, and Ricky is played by newcomer Richie Merritt. This is one of those "stranger than fiction" kind of stories and it looks like it's going to be a great film filled with incredible performances. The movie also stars Andy WeissJennifer Jason Leigh, Bruce Dern, Bel Powley, and Piper Laurie

McConaughey ended up meeting the real Wershe Jr. at one point, and he told USA Today:

"This guy was not equipped to handle his family. He’s singing the chorus, like, 'We’re going to do this.' But reality takes over and wins. And he loses."
"He never claimed to be a saint, but at the same time he was adamant that he never had the amount of drugs he was busted for. He also understands that when he does become a free man, he will still be seen as (having) an outstanding debt to society."

White Boy Rick is being directed by French director Yann Demange from a script written by Steve Kloves, Logan Miller, Noah Miller, and Andy Weiss.

White Boy Rick opens in theaters on September 14, 2018.

Everything is Still Awesome in Trailer For THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part along with a new poster featuring the return of the gang! It also features the tagline, "They Come in Pieces".

The first movie was so good and so much fun. It set a high bar, but it looks like this sequel will actually be just as fun and entertaining.

The returning cast includes Chris Pratt as Master Builder Emmet Brickowoski, Elizabeth Banks as Wyldstyle, Will Arnett as Batman, Channing Tatum as Superman and Jonah Hill as Green Lantern. Then there's Tiffany Haddish who will be voicing a new lead character in the movie. The cast also includes Alison Brie as Unikitty and Nick Offerman as Metal Beard. Here's the synopsis:

The much-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed, global box office phenomenon that started it all, “The LEGO® Movie 2: The Second Part,” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.
The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.

The movie will be directed by Mike Mitchell (Trolls, Shrek Forever After, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water). Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who wrote and directed The LEGO Movie, wrote the first draft of the sequel's script and then was re-written by BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. In addition, Lord and Miller will serve as producers.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set for release on February 8, 2019.

The First Trailer For TRANSFORMERS Spinoff BUMBLEBEE Has Arrived

The first trailer for the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee has arrived, and its action packed, heartwarming, and a bit confusing all at the same time. Check out the trailer and then jump below for some ramblings about it:

First off, let me say that I love the action scenes! Of course, that's to be expected as I'm sure that's a large part of why people still show up for these films. I didn't really get a huge 80s vibe from watching the trailer, although I guess I can appreciate some subtlety rather than rampant product placement constantly reminding me what era we're in.

Overall it was fine, although I do take issue with the weird moment at the beginning that features a voiceover of Bernie Mac's character. Doesn't this film take place before Transformers 1? Why was that put in there? It just felt weird and out of place for me, especially when the scene itself was never incredibly uplifting or iconic.

The movie is being directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) and stars Hailee SteinfeldJohn Cena (Ferdinand), John Ortiz (Kong: Skull Island), and Kenneth Choi (Spider-Man: Homecoming).

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Anyway, I'll probably be going to see this film around Christmas time, what about you?

There’s a Dolly Parton Anthology Series Being Produced By Netflix

Netflix has picked up an eight-episode scripted anthology based on the songs of Dolly Parton. Parton will serve as the singer-songwriter and executive producer of the series. She will also appear in it. Each episode is said to be based on a classic song by the musician.

This whole thing was apparently inspired by two TV movies that were produced by NBC, and Sam Haskell, who oversaw both NBC films, is said to be involved as well. When talking about the new series, Parton said:

"As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music. I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support."

They don't say which songs the series will focus on but I imagine that Jolene, Traveling Man, Coat of Many Colors, Lonely Comin' Down, The Bargain Store, Touch Your Woman, and Love is Like a Butterfly could most likely be a part of it.

Singer-songwriter-actress Parton started her career at age 13 on the radio before being a featured singer on a syndicated TV program. She crossed over with 1977's "Here You Come Again," a hit on both the country and pop music charts... During her career, Parton has had 41 albums that have reached the top 10 on the country charts as well as 25 certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum. She's a two-time Oscar nominee for her original music, including "9 to 5" and "Travelin' Thru," from Transamerica."

What do you think about Dolly Parton getting her own anthology series at Netflix?

Ant-Man Finds Himself in a Hilarious Predicament in International Trailer For ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

A new international trailer was released for Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp and it features a hilarious new scene that had me busting up with laughter. While trying to shrink, Scott Lang's suit breaks and he ends up getting stuck in the size of a toddler. I'm sure you'll all get kick out of this!

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.

The mission will focus on Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne going into the quantum realm to save Janet Van Dyne, which is what I'm most excited about seeing.

Peyton Reed is directing Ant-Man and the Wasp and it stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Pena as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, T.I. as Dave, Randall Park as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, and Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will be released in theaters on July 6th, 2018.

Striking Trailer For Director Zhang Yimou’s Supernatural Martial Arts Film SHADOW

I've got a fantastic first trailer here for you to watch for a new supernatural martial arts thriller called Shadow. The film comes from director Zhang Yimou who has previously brought us films such as Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden FlowerMatt Damon's The Great Wall and the Christian Bale's The Flowers of War. He's going back to his roots with this new film and it looks like it could be stunning!

I absolutely love what I'm seeing in this first trailer. It looks like it was beautifully shot and there's sure to be some incredibly cool fight choreography. On top of that, the story looks intriguing!

The film is set during China's Three Kingdom's era (AD 220–280) and it tells the story of a king and his people’s struggle for their rightful land. That story is told through the perspectives of the king, his sister, his commander, the entrapped women of the palace, and a commoner.

This ensemble cast includes Ryan Zheng, Xiaotong Guan, Chao Deng, Li Sun, Qianyuan Wang, Jun Hu, Lei Wu, and Jingchun Wang. There's no word on when we'll get to watch this movie in the states, but I'll be looking forward to it.

NECA Toys’ Ultimate GREMLINS Action Figure is Coming To Terrorize You

Whenever I come across anything that has to do with the movie Gremlins, that musical score from the film always pops into my head! Anyway, NECA Toys has revealed their new Ultimate Gremlins 7" action figure! The new figure features 25 points of articulation and comes packed with movie-themed accessories.

If you're in more of a twisted kind of family, this Gremlin could be your new Elf on the Shelf to keep your kids in line during the holidays! Here are the details for the figure:

To honor the first appearance of a Gremlin in our Ultimate line, NECA has completely re-sculpted the original 1984 Gremlin body!
Any fans of the Gremlins movies knows the rules: keep them out of sunlight, don’t get them wet, and never feed them after midnight. Break them and your fuzzy, friendly little Mogwai will turn into a scaly, savage Gremlin, like this deluxe 7” scale figure (stands approximately 6” tall).
The all new body features over 25 points of articulation, including ears and jaw. This Ultimate edition comes with popcorn bags that can be placed over the ears like in the movie, assorted candy, mug, playing cards, 3D glasses and more.
Packaged in a collector-friendly window box with opening flap.

The Ultimate Gremlin is set for an October release. You can see the new photos after the jump.

Jon Hamm Talks About Jeremy Renner Breaking Both Arms During Production of TAG

I’m really excited for Tag to come out. The trailers make it look like a blast. According to Jon Hamm, the set was pretty intense though as there were several injuries on set. The most notable is one that he wasn’t around for, but apparently, Jeremy Renner broke both of his arms at the same time on day 3 of production. Hamm mentions in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that they put him in green screen casts that they could fix in post with CGI. You can watch the clip of Hamm talking to DeGeneres below. Are you looking forward to this movie?

Tag will hit theaters on June 15, 2018.
