Pierce Brosnan Thinks Tom Hardy Should Be the Next James Bond

Daniel Craig has been the latest member of the James Bond club, but his time is coming to an end. Who should play the famous member of MI6? Some have thrown out the idea of the next Bond being a woman, but many fans have been outraged at such a thought. Pierce Brosnan has a different idea though. In a recent interview with Daily Mail, Brosnan reveals that he thinks Tom Hardy would be a great 007 and addresses if a woman could be the master spy.

Bond is Bond and you can’t change that. I think a woman could play Bond but it wouldn’t be James Bond. Daniel Craig has been an incredible Bond. He’s very physical, he looks lethal. You genuinely believe this is someone who could kill a man. He’s complained about doing the part because he’s put himself through a lot physically, but he will do the next movie, and then I think Tom Hardy could be a good Bond. I’d be happy to see him do it. You need an actor who can put a bit of wiggle into it – that’s what makes Bond.

I have really enjoyed Craig and I do enjoy Hardy in other movies, so I’d be willing to give him a chance. Would you want to see Hardy as the new Bond? Who would you pick for the role?

A Group of Teens Set Out To Catch a Serial Killer in New Trailer For SUMMER OF ’84

A serial killer is on the loose in this new trailer for Summer of '84, and a group of teens in the 80s take it upon themselves to catch the killer, who they believe is their next door neighbor. Here's the full synopsis:

Every serial killer is somebody’s neighbor. For 15-year-old Davey, the thought of having a serial killer in his suburban town is a scary yet exciting prospect at the start of a lazy summer. In hormonal overdrive, Davey and his friends dream of sexual conquests until the news reports of the Cape May killer. Davey convinces his friends that they must investigate, and they uncover that his next-door neighbor, an unassuming, single police officer, could be the prime suspect. Could Davey possibly be right, or is it his overactive imagination?

This seems like it has all the right ingredients for a film that a lot of geeks who are obsessed with the 80s might enjoy. It' tapping into that radcore nostalgia that we've all enjoyed since the popularity of Stranger Things.

The only thing is... the movie isn't that good. I had a chance to see it at Sundance. It was at the top of my list of films to see and it just ended up being a complete disappointment. This is what I said in my review:

I loved the initial concept of this movie! Unfortunately, that concept was poorly executed. This could have been a seriously great movie, but due to a poor script, poor character development, and lots of unnecessary plot holes, the movie didn't work for me.

The movie was packed full of 80s references, but nostalgia doesn't make a great story! They can talk about stuff from the 80s all they want, but it's meaningless without a good script or story. Most of the 80s references made throughout the course of the film felt very unnatural and forced.

The movie comes from RKSS, which is the same directing team that brought us Turbo Kid, which I loved! Just because I didn't like it, though, doesn't mean that won't. You might actually enjoy it and I suggest giving it a shot just so you can form your own opinion.

Summer of ’84 stars Graham Verchere (Fargo, The Good Doctor), Judah Lewis (Demolition, The Babysitter), Cory Gruter-Andrew (The 100), Caleb Emery (Goosebumps, American Vandal), and Rich Sommer (Mad Men).

The film was written by Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith, and it will hit theaters on August 10th, 2018, and will arrive On Demand and on Digital HD on August 24th, 2018.

Kevin Feige Will NOT Be Replacing Kathleen Kennedy as Lucasfilm President

A few weeks ago a rumor surfaced surrounding Kathleen Kennedy possibly stepping down as Lucasfilm president. Not long after that, Deadline mentioned some additional rumors that Kevin Feige would be the new president of Lucasfilm. They noted that the speculation was "roundly denied", but there's still a lot of talk about Feige possibly taking over for Lucasfilm.

It doesn't really make sense for Feige to do that, though, because he's already got a huge franchise that he's heading up that he loves. Why in the world would he want to take his attention away from Marvel to head up everything that Lucasfilm has got going on, like the Star Wars franchise?

According to /Film, Kennedy has no plans of stepping down as Lucasfilm president anytime soon and they asked Kevin Feige about the rumors of him taking over and if there was any truth to them. This was his reply:

"No. Only in my backyard with my action figures."

So for those of you who were hoping that Kenndy would step down and be replaced by Feige, sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not gonna happen.

Sure! it would have been interesting to see what Fiege would do with the Star Wars franchise! After seeing what he did with Marvel, I imagine he could do some pretty incredible things with Star Wars. That's something we'll probably never get to see happen, though. In a previous interview with io9, Feige was asked if he ever wanted to make a Star Wars film, and this is how he responded:

"I have two jobs: Running Marvel, being a big Marvel fan, and being a Star Wars nerd. Those are my two jobs. My house is full of Star Wars so I’m as big a Star Wars fan as there is. What’s great is, I’ve often said if I wasn’t making these Marvel movies I’d be waiting in line to see them but, and this must happen to you too, you’re behind the scenes, you see things, and you’re losing the purity of the experience of being a film fan. I’ve not lost that at all with Star Wars and I don’t want to lose that. I saw The Force Awakens at the premiere but I probably knew less than you about the movie. … The closest I have is sometimes, we were doing Doctor Strange in the vicinity where there were some Star Wars things starting to happen and sometimes I’d try to peek around a corner and see a piece of plywood being turned into a ship of some kind and geek out. So I like being the Star Wars fan that I am."

So, he enjoys being a Star Wars fan just like the rest of us. In the end, Disney is very happy with what Kennedy has done with the Star Wars franchise. They are happy with the films that Lucasfilm has delivered, and they will probably work with Kennedy for as long as she wants to be a part of it.

David Yost Already Wrote the Beginning of a POWER RANGERS Reunion Movie

mighty_morphin_power_rangers.jpg

David Yost and Amy Jo Johnson are two of the original Power Rangers, and they’ve both said they’d love to work on a reunion movie now that Hasbro has acquired the franchise and said it was underutilized. In theory, Johnson would serve as director and Yost would produce the film. They would both star in it of course as well. While this is something most fans only dream of (make it happen Hasbro!) it’s always been a dream with nothing materializing. However, it appears Yost has been working on writing a reunion film and he told ComicBook.com that he has the beginning done.

Traveling around the world I’m very blessed. I get to travel around the world to different conventions and I meet fans from all over the world and time and time again, all I hear is we want to see a reunion of the original cast. We want to see where the original six, unfortunately only five of us are alive. We want to see where they are at. I’ve never understood why this wasn’t in the plan, or why the people that own the franchise just never really wanted to try that out, but I hear it and hear it.

So I would love to be able to give that to our fans. I think that they would really enjoy it. I’ve already written quite specific... I would just say the beginning. I just don’t want to spoil it, so I won’t say anything, but I’ve written it, and it would definitely pay homage to Thuy Trang who played the original Yellow Ranger. And we would still come together and still be superheroes on some level.

I’m curious about all the characters. I’m very curious about Billy and the last time that my character was on the show he was sent into outer space. And he was living on another planet, called Aquitar. So I think it would be interesting to see what happened to Billy. Is he possibly like a commander of a Starfleet traveling space or did he become a Zordon-like character in his own right? Does he have his own team of Power Rangers helping him fight villains throughout the universe? I don’t know. Those are things that I would like to see.

And of course, I would like to see what happened to Tommy, Kimberly, Jason, and Zack. I know the fans would love it too. Hopefully, Hasbro will have a conversation with us. Something came out the other day, I don’t know if it is true or not, but I read that they felt like the franchise has been undervalued and they have thoughts of bringing more films to life, so we will see if that happens. Only time will tell.

We know Hasbro has plans to make more movies, but nothing solid has been announced. It’s very fair since they’ve had the brand for maybe a month now, but I really hope they pick up on this idea. I’d love to see a reunion film. I’d also love to see a Shattered Grid/Lord Drakkon series. I’m sure Walter Jones, Austin St John, and Jason David Frank would all be more than happy to appear in this film. Come on Hasbro!

A New Post-Game Outfit For SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY Revealed

Yesterday, Nintendo revealed on Twitter that players who were able to complete the primary campaign in Super Mario Odyssey will be rewarded with a new and free post-game outfit. Players can just head to the shop for Mario to access the Range Hat & Rango Suit.

The latest outfit is the same exact suit worn by the Broodal miniboss Rango in Odyssey. For those of you who can’t remember, he is the tall fellow wearing suspenders and spiked bracelets. This will not be the first time a Broodal outfit becomes available in Super Mario Odyssey. Last April, players are treated with the Broodal Topper’s sharp green suit and top hat. Moreover, it seems that more Broodal costumes are on the way to the game as revealed in an update last February.

Super Mario Odyssey is now available for the Nintendo Switch. What do you think of Mario’s latest post-game outfit? Share your favorite Super Mario Odyssey moment in the comments below.

How AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Should Have Ended

how-avengers-infinity-war-should-have-ended-social.jpg

I've been waiting to see how the team at How It Should Have Ended would handle the ending to Avengers: Infinity War and now it's here! They went all out on this new animated video, which clocks in at over 11-minutes. But, it's worth the watch and as you'd imagine, it's very funny and entertaining. The video actually offers several alternate endings are plausible and at the same time it points out some plot holes in the film.

The video ends with the entire team sitting in a coffee shop with Batman and Superman poking fun at each other and all of the traumatic major events that they've gone through. Then all of a sudden Thor, who is wearing the gauntlet snaps his fingers, and you'll just have to watch the video to see what happens.

Mark Hamill and Chris Evans Comment on if a Lightsaber Could Cut Captain America’s Shield

A dad recently posted online that his son asked him if a lightsaber could cut through Captain America’s shield. The dad had no idea, hence the online post.

Well, Mark Hamill and Chris Evans have both stepped up to comment on the question of the ages. While the shield is made of the fictional (and near indestructible) vibranium, both celebrities agree that a lightsaber would cut through it (although Hamill does point out it depends on which universe they're in).

However, Evans points out that he then has multiple projectiles to throw at a Force user. Of course, logic dictates that the Force user could use the Force to win, but that’s another discussion for another time.

This debate got me thinking. What would the real result be? Lucky for all of us, Kyle Hill has made an episode of Because Science that tackles this very question. The video was made leading up to Captain America: Civil War, so it’s a couple years old, but it’s still good. The conclusion he comes to is that a lightsaber could cut through the shield, given enough time. Here’s the full explanation.

The NES Classic Is Back In Stores, Although It Might Be Gone Before You Finish Reading This

the-nes-classic-is-back-in-stores-although-it-might-be-gone-before-you-finish-reading-this-social.jpg

A new shipment of NES Classics have arrived in stores today, although it appears they're headed right back on out as consumers and scalpers alike are scrambling to get their hands on them. In fact, I checked about fifteen minutes after the Amazon listing was live, and their entire online stock was already claimed. If you live in a smaller town or act fast, you may still have a shot at grabbing one at Walmart or Target (via The Verge), BUT ACT FAST. Anyone who waits until tomorrow and then takes to social media to gripe has no one to blame but themselves this time around.

Here’s a More Detailed Look at Captain America’s New Costume and Style in AVENGERS 4

Some more promo art has been shared for Avengers 4, and this time it gives us a more detailed look at Captain America's costume and style. As you can see below, he's got a brand new clean suit with scale armor look. He's also got a nice haircut again and he's shaved off the beard. The one thing he's missing is the helmet. But overall, I like the new look!

You can see some additional promo art that was shared yesterday that included Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, Hulk, Hawkeye, Nebula, Rocket Raccoon, and War Machine.

A lot of people thought that Captain America was going to die at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. But he didn't! He lived! Now, of course, fans think that he's definitely going to die in Avengers 4, but at this point, who knows what's going to happen. He might die, he might live, we'll just have to wait and see what Marvel has in store for him when the movie is released on May 3rd, 2019.

The First Film in Lucasfilm’s New STAR WARS Trilogy From Rian Johnson Could Come in 2020

Regardless of what some fans thought of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm obviously had a good experience working with Rian Johnson on the film because they gave him a blank canvas to create his own original Star Wars trilogy. He didn't even have to pitch them an idea.

We have no idea what to expect from it other than the fact it will be completely different from anything in the saga and that it will take place in another corner of the Star Wars universe and feature all new characters. The director has also said that his vision of the movie will "capture the spirit" of George Lucas' original films.

Some new information has come to light from Johnson's producing partner Ram Bergman. In an interview with the Israeli website From The Grapevine, Bergman reiterated:

"It’s a completely new trilogy that writer-director Rian Johnson, my partner, is going to create. It’s all new characters. Everything is new."

He then went on to say that we could expect to see the first film released in two years, which would put the date in the year 2020:

“I can’t tell you because we don’t know yet. Maybe in two years; it’s just in the early stages.”

I didn't think that it would happen that soon, but even though things are still in the early stages, it seems like the development of the film is moving along quickly if that is the target date for the first film. This means that not long after Episode IX brings the current trilogy to a close, this new story will begin. I'm looking forward to seeing what Johnson brings to this new trilogy.

Star Wars: Episode IX will be released on December 20, 2019.
