Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is going to be a ridiculously entertaining film. We've already seen a great teaser trailer, but I've seen a few additional clips from the film at various events that I've attended over the past year.
One of the funniest clips that I've seen involves all of the Disney Princesses coming together for a scene and that one scene is absolutely hilarious. Thanks to USA Today, we now have our first look at that scene featuring Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) standing in the middle of a big room, surrounded by all of the Disney Princesses.
What makes this so great is that Disney brought together most of the original voice actresses back for this one particular scene. Those voice actresses include Ming Na Wen (Mulan), Idina Menzel (Elsa Frozen), Kristen Bell (Anna Frozen) Jodi Benson (Ariel The Little Mermaid), Paige O’Hara (Belle Beauty and the Beast), Linda Larkin (Jasmine Aladdin), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana The Princess and the Frog), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel Tangled), Kelly MacDonald (Merida Brave), and Auli'i Cravalho (Moana).
We have a full description of the scene involving these characters that you can read here. I also included a couple other photos with John C. Reilly as Ralph, Taraji P. Henson as Yesss, and Alan Tudyk, who voices the know-it-all search engine KnowsMore.
KnowsMore has an Autofill function, so he ends up finishing people’s sentences, and that's something that gets on Ralph’s nerves. It's explained by director Phil Johnston that "Vanellope’s been in the Internet all of one minute and she immediately gets it. And Ralph takes it personally as an affront to him."
May has already had quite a bit of free content for a few games celebrating their anniversary, including Tekken and Friday the 13th. With the month nearing the end, another team has launched a bunch of free content for their player base to enjoy.
Behaviour Digital has announced that for the two year anniversary of Dead by Daylight, they have added a few things. The main addition is a new chapter named Curtain Call, which will introduce players to a new killer, The Clown, and a new survivor, Kate Denson. The new chapter will take place in Campbell's Chapel.
There is also a new in-game store, which is considered to be in a Public Test Build (PTB) state, to purchase cosmetic items as well as some of the game characters. The team even worked on an overhaul the economy to include two main changes:
Iridescent Shards will be gained with playtime through a new player level system.
Auric Cells will be available for purchase.
Despite the fact that they launched a road map back in March, there was talk among the Dead by Daylight fans that they were concerned that Behaviour Digital's latest game to go into closed Alpha, DeathGarden, was going to be the end of the game. I feel this update shows that they have no intention of letting that happen, but it's even better to hear it straight from the Dead by Daylight Game Director, Mathieu Côté.
“We can’t believe it’s already been two years. What’s even more incredible is that this was just the beginning. We are committed to making Dead by Daylight bigger and more fun (or terrifying) in the long run. In March, we introduced our new roadmap. We will continue developing new chapters, features and perks for as long as players demand it and will now introduce mid-chapter patches to ensure balancing and proper bug fixing.”
That's confirmation enough to say that Dead by Daylight won't be going anywhere until the player fan base decides they are ready to move on. With the new chapter and the in-game store now available, what are you looking forward to trying out most; The Clown, the store, or the new survivor?
With ABC cancelingRoseanne, there is a gap to fill in their fall schedule. Not long after it was announced that the show was canceled, TV writer and producer Bryan Fuller took to Twitter to push for a Pushing Daisies revival to fill that empty slot in the fall schedule!
The wonderful short-lived dramedy starred Lee Pace, Ana Friel and Kristin Chenoweth and it aired on ABC from 2007-09. The series centers on the life of Ned (Pace), a pie-maker gifted with the mysterious ability to reanimate the dead by touching them. The core of the story is love. Ned's childhood sweetheart ends up being murdered, and he uses his ability to bring her back to life, even though he could never, ever touch her. If he did, she would die again, for good.
I loved this show! It's definitely one of my favorites and the fact that Bryan Fuller, the creator of the show, would want to revive it is awesome! I know it's a long shot and it probably won't happen, but damn, it would be so cool to see the show make a comeback!
If you've never seen the show, you really need to watch it because it's something special. When previously talking about his love for the series, Fuller told Vanity Fair:
“It’s perhaps the purest expression of my creativity, as derivative as it is. It’s full of things that make me happy as an artist. So when anyone appreciates the show, they’re appreciating me.”
He also previously talked about reviving the series in some way, saying:
"I still would love to do Pushing Daisies as a Broadway musical. I’d love to see it return as a mini-series for Netflix, Apple, or Amazon, or whoever would pick it up. I ask Warner Bros. every year to see if they’d be open to it. There are some obstacles there as far as revitalizing it as a television show, but like I said, I’d love to see it as a Broadway musical."
Dave Bautista recently talked to Collider about the future of Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Before we dive into what he had to say about that, I'm going to throw up a spoiler warning, because we do get into some spoiler territory.
If you've already seen Avengers: Infinity War you know that at the end Drax was one of the many casualties of Thanos snapping his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet. There are a lot of fans who believe that many of these characters will be back, we just don't know the details on how that will happen.
While talking about the film, Dave Bautista revealed that Drax will be back and that his return will come in Avengers 4.
"I got a lot of texts saying, 'I can't believe you're dead, your character is dead.' They were really like heartbroken and I was like 'I'm gonna be in four. I'm gonna be in Guardians 3.' I don't know how they're bringing me back, yeah but somehow I'm going to make it because, as far as I know, I am going to be in Guardians 3, so I have to be back."
So, it seems like Drax is a character that we don't have to worry about. It really isn't that surprising. We all know that there are characters who will return, but I believe that there will be real sacrifices made by the other heroes that survived Infinity War to bring these characters back.
It's also not surprising to learn that not even Bautista knows how he returns. Remember, the Russo Bros. gave all the actors fake scripts for Infinity War to keep certain secrets safe. I'm sure they did the same thing with Avengers 4.
We'll just have to wait until May 3rd, 2019 to see what happens!
Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) is set to star in a new supernatural drama series being developed by Netflix called Chambers. The series is being produced by Oscar-winning writer Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) and this is the synopsis that was released:
Chambers centers on a young heart attack survivor who becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister.
Thurman will play a character named Nancy, who is "the mother of the heart donor who forges a hesitant relationship with the young recipient only to find her daughter may not be as dead as she thought."
I think this could make for a solid series, especially with Uma Thurman on board to star in it. Chambers was created by Leah Rachel, who will write it and be the showrunner alongside Akela Cooper. It also landed a 10-episode straight-to-series order.
Claire Temple's days in the Marvel Netflix Universe may be numbered as Rosario Dawson is openly indicating she's looking to move on from the role sooner than later. Dawson spoke recently about the role at MCM Comic Con London (via The Mary Sue) and left nothing up to interpretation with her response:
“I don’t know if I’ll be back after this, to be honest, but it’s been an amazing few years. I’ve been on a lot of different shows. I mean, I don’t know if maybe they do a third season of Luke Cage potentially, or maybe if they figure out some kind of way for me to be on The Punisher—just so I can feel like I’ve done every show.”
The fact that Temple could potentially appear in The Punisher leads me to believe we're not going to see her character get a send-off in Luke Cage Season 2. That's a shame, because I'd rather see Claire Temple go out in a blaze of glory or on top as opposed to being that one person the team used to all know who just disappears without cause or reason.
Those thinking Dawson has some big role like Ahsoka Tano waiting for her upon her exit need to chill out, as Dawson said her reasons for wanting to leave are more personal than anything. Specifically, Dawson said she has a teenage daughter she'd like to spend more time with and keep tabs on as opposed to being on set 3000 miles away. I can't say that I blame her, that would be rough.
Will you miss Dawson in the Marvel Netflix shows provided this is the beginning of her leaving?
Alan Rickman had a long and successful career in Hollywood, but I think most people would say his role as Severus Snape in Harry Potter was one of his most iconic roles. While Rickman always seemed high up on the Harry Potter franchise throughout his time in it, old letters from the actor now going up for auction reveal that may not have always been the case. Deadline said some of the letters featuring Rickman expressing frustration with the role, such as this snippet from when he was filming The Half-Blood Prince:
“It’s as if David Yates has decided that this is not important in the scheme of things i.e. teen audience appeal."
That one can be taken either way. After all The Half-Blood Prince was a very big turning point for Rickman's character, so I could see Rickman getting upset for not being able to express something the way he wanted or something like that. That said, there's another reference to the films earlier in a letter written to him from producer David Heyman which shows Rickman having issues with Snape's role wasn't exactly a new thing:
“Thank you for making HP2 a success. I know, at times, you are frustrated but please know that you are an integral part of the films. And you are brilliant.”
It's a shame we don't have more context to this! I would love to know what was going on in Rickman's head during these films, as well as page through all the other letters he wrote in 40 years of acting! Hopefully whoever ends up getting these letters will be generous enough to share some context with fans somehow.

We've got an awesome new TV spot for you to watch for the crazy fun looking giant shark movie The Meg. There's some great new footage, some of which features the giant Megalodon shark coming face to face with Jason Statham, and as the shark starts chomping at him while he's diving in the ocean, of course, Statham kicks it in the face while trying not to get eaten! This movie looks so ridiculous, yet so much fun!
In the film, a deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below…bringing him face to face once more with the greatest and largest predator of all time.
The movie was directed by John Turteltaub (National Treasure) and it also stars Jessica McNamee, Li Bingbing, Winston Chao, Ruby Rose, Rainn Wilson, Cliff Curtis, and Robert Taylor.
The Meg will be released in theaters on August 10th, 2018.
Last night, Nintendo finally announced the existence of two new upcoming Pokémon titles for the Nitnedo Switch and released a trailer, which is posted below. The next games, dubbed Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will be set in the Kanto region and will feature the original 151 Pokémon. These games will be different than any other previous installments in the franchise with the notable inclusion of a multiplayer mode. The upcoming games will draw inspiration from Pokémon Yellow, which was a GameBoy title that banked on Pikachu’s popularity as the official mascot of the series. For the upcoming games, players will have either Pikachu or Eevee, depending on which version you purchase, sitting on the player’s shoulders or head.
Besides the announcement that these games are in development and will be available to the Nintendo Switch in November, Nintendo also shared a few unique mechanics that will be introduced for the first time in a core game.
First, Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee for the Nintendo Switch will take advantage of the console’s Joy-Cons during gameplay. Inspired by Pokémon Go, players will be able to use one Joy-Con, and during battles, players can catch a Pokémon similar to the way it is done in Pokémon Go by flicking the controller to simulate the action of tossing a pokéball to capture targets. Furthermore, Pokémon will also be visible on the player’s map so they can choose which creatures to battle instead of randomly encountering them as it was with previous games. To add to that, players will have the ability to transfer any of the original 151 Pokémon from their collection in Pokémon GO to the new upcoming games via a Bluetooth transfer.
Another impressive feature in these new titles is that both Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will have a co-operative mode, which is a first for the series. “When you’re playing the game, you’ll see that there’s a kind of a mark indicating when a second player can join,” Junichi Masuda said director at Game Freak. “It’s pretty much anytime you’re in the fields or on the routes or in battles for example. All you do is take a second Joy Con and shake it and the second player will drop in, and you’ll be playing alongside your friends.”
Currently, these games will serve as the first proper Pokémon title for the Nintendo Switch aside from Pokémon Quest, which launched to the console today. Nintendo also announced that they will release a Poké Ball-shaped controller dubbed as the Poké Ball Plus for Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. This controller will allow players to “bring one of their Pokémon with them as they explore the real world,” the company said in a press release.
Lastly, Masuda, who has been involved with Pokémon games ever since the beginning, shared that they wanted to experiment with different play styles to bring a more unique experience than traditional games in the past.
“With these games specifically, we’re trying to introduce these all-new play styles. It’s really a much-simplified experience compared to the traditional series. …At the same time, I think there’s going to be a lot for players who enjoyed the original games.”
Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will be available on November 16 to the Switch. Don’t forget to check out the trailer for the game, which is posted below.
