Every so often a celebrity will say something in an interview that will wake people up to the reality that acting isn't as fun as it always seems to be. This is one of those stories. Benedict Cumberbatch had one shirtless scene in Marvel's Doctor Strange, and you would not believe the amount of working out and self-sacrifice he had to go through for a scene that was, to be quite frank, unforgettable. Listen to Cumberbatch talk about the grueling process, which involves chugging coffee and eating lots of skittles, below:
It’s been a while since I heard anything about DC’s upcoming show Titans. However, someone recently took a video on set that gives us a 10-second glimpse at Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson and Conor Leslie whose role is undisclosed, but many fans are guessing she will play Donna Troy/Wonder Girl. I still can’t wait for this show. I hope it kicks butt! It is important to note that the actors walked off after noticing that they were being filmed by someone other than their film crew. Someone took their smoke break at the right time. Are you excited?
Titans is set to premiere on DC's upcoming streaming platform later this year.
"Oh I missed you boy wonder" - #titansdc filming exactly where @richmanalina and I have our smoke breaks. The actor stormed off a few seconds after this because he noticed us taking vids ? #dccomics #teentitans @comicstorian @comicsexplained
I know that when you compare the trailers for Avengers: Infinity War with the actual film, we saw actual shots of the Hulk running into battle with his team. I have no idea if those were at one point a part of the movie and then they ended up switching it up, or if it was just a way throw audiences off.
But, there was one scene in the film that I know was originally planned that was never used. That scene included Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) in the heat of battle on Wakanda in the Hulkbuster armor. At one point, he was supposed to turn into the Hulk while in the armor and explode out of it!
I was really looking forward to seeing this scene and I was a little disappointed that it didn't happen. But, after seeing what they are doing with Banner and the Hulk in the story, I understand why he never turned.
Hell, the scene was supposed to be such a cool moment in the movie that Hasbro and Funko Pop! even made toys for it! The Hasbro toy was revealed a couple of months ago, but now it's actually on sale.
Hasbro has officially unveiled the Hulk Out Hulkbuster Figure which is available to order right here for $59.99. The official description of the figure reads:
"Imagine Hulk bulking up and hulking out with the Hulk Out Hulkbuster, featuring lights, sounds, and phrases! When the Hulk figure is inside the Hulkbuster armor, press the center button to activate Hulkbuster phrases and sound effects. Then, bust out of the Hulkbuster armor by pressing the buttons on the side, and send the armor pieces flying! Once Hulk is busted out, reassemble the pieces of the Hulkbuster armor to build up a 13.5-inch Hulkbuster armor figure! Press the center button on the Hulk figure for more Hulk phrases and sounds, and press the buttons on the figure’s back for smashing fist action!"
Here's the Funko Pop! which will be available on May 4th for $18.99.
We are two episodes into Westworld Season 2 and HBO has decided to renew the series for Season 3! So far Season 2 has been great! I love this world that has been created, and the writing and storytelling are just so damn compelling! I'm extremely happy to hear that we are getting a third season, and I imagine that won't be the last.
The Westworld theme park, run by the Delos corporation, offers its guests the opportunity to experience the Wild West in an expansive tract of open, arid land that includes the frontier town of Sweetwater. The town and land are inhabited by "hosts": humanoid robots with advanced programming. The hosts follow a predefined set of intertwining narratives and have the ability to deviate from these narratives based on interactions they have with guests.
The hosts repeat their narrative anew each day—having had their memories of the previous day erased—until they are repurposed or stowed away for use in other narratives. For guest safety, hosts are unable to harm any lifeform; this allows guests nearly unlimited freedom to engage without retribution in any activity they choose with the hosts, including sex and simulated murder. Staff situated in vast underground facilities oversee the park, develop new narratives, and perform repairs on hosts as necessary.
Season 2 focus on the uprising of the hosts as they revolt against their human creators.
The series is based on the film of the same name written by Michael Crichton and it was created for HBO by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Casey Bloys, president of HBO Programming had this to say in a statement:
“It’s been an extraordinary pleasure to work with the exceptionally talented Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, as well as their gifted cast and crew. From the inspired storytelling to the incredible visuals, we are so excited to see where the next chapter will take us."
The fans are excited to see where the next chapter takes us as well! Westworld stars Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Jimmi Simpson, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, and Tessa Thompson.
There's no word yet on when Season 3 will premiere but are happy to hear that HBO is moving forward with the third season?
With Avengers: Infinity War bringing in $640.9 million globally over its opening weekend, we have a new opening weekend champion. It ended up taking the domestic opening record from Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Like any good former champion would, Lucasfilm has relinquished the title to Marvel Studios with grace:
Infinity War also made an estimated $25.2M on Monday! That gives Infinity War another record for the biggest Monday in April at the box office. That record was previously held by Furious 7.
I loved this movie and I can’t wait to watch it again. It has everything you would want in a Marvel Movie.
James Cameron said he loves Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and acknowledged the Stanley Kubrick film had a profound impact on his life, but he also thinks it's a deeply flawed film. Cameron told The Star that the film lacks "emotional balls," but that as a work of art the film is masterful:
“It’s not a film that I like; it’s a film that I love. When I say I don’t like it, it’s that I don’t like the feel of the film. I don’t like its sterility. I like a film with a little more emotional balls, just as a movie, to get involved in. But as a work of art, I love . It had an had an enormous, enormous impact on me, at a certain point.”
That's a pretty spicy take from Cameron, but I'm sure there are folks that will agree with him. As beautiful and amazing as 2001: A Space Odyssey is it's definitely more eye-candy than anything. I'm not sure anyone watches that film and walks away saying "godddamn that story was amazing." Interesting? Sure.
Honestly, I'm surprised I see Cameron's point on this one, as I tend to disagree with most of his takes he puts out there in the universe. How do you feel about what Cameron said?
Three teaser trailers have been released for the Showtime comedy stand-up special Kevin Smith: Silent But Deadly. This was the comedy special that Kevin Smith was shooting on the night of his near-fatal heart attack. It was moments after this special ended that he was rushed to the hospital.
As I watch these videos, Kevin Smith is on fire and he certainly doesn't look like he's going to walk off stage and have a heart attack. In one video we listen to Smith joke about a time he ordered 70 burgers, 40 fries, 20 onion rings, and 1 small diet root beer. In another, he jokes about how his wife doesn't think she's in the "Kevin Smith demographic."
I've been of Smith since I first saw Clerks and it's always fun to see him get up in front of a crowd and joke around.
Kevin Smith: Silent But Deadly premieres May 11, 2018 on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Dwayne Johnson recently took to Instagram to thank his fans for helping make Rampage the #1 movie in the world for two weeks before he acknowledges that he’s lost to Avengers: Infinity War. He goes on to congratulate everyone that worked on that film before going on to tease the possibility of him working with Chris Pratt. While I am getting a little sick of Johnson being in everything, I may be up for a film that features him and Pratt. Maybe Pratt will get a role in the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel that is in the works. Johnson says he has an idea, what do you think that idea is?
Every crazy movie idea/goal/ambition/dirty joke, goes up on my vision board inside the hallowed walls of the #IronParadise. Congrats AVENGERS on a huge box office opening worldwide!
