For me, one of the most heartbreaking moments in Avengers: Infinity War was the moment that Spider-Man died. I've seen the movie three times already and that scene completely wrecked me every time.
One of the most interesting aspects of this scene is that Spider-Man seemed to have a little more time to express his fear of what was happening than everyone else. None of the other characters who died after Thanos snapped his fingers really knew what was happening to them. They just faded away into ash and didn't realize they were dying until the very last moment.
Not Spider-Man, though. We saw Peter Parker start to express his fear of what was happening to him a lot longer than anyone else before he disintegrated into ash. The first thing he tells Tony Stark was that he wasn't feeling well before collapsing into Tony's arms. I believe that before this moment, his spidey-senses kicked in and they were telling him that something was terribly wrong. Because Spider-Man is able to sense bad things before they happen, he must've felt the moment right before Thanos snapped his fingers and those feelings just surged through his body and he knew that he, and maybe even half of the universe, was going to die.
Peter knowing what was happening before he died puts a whole new perspective on his death. Watching him plead to Tony in his arms saying, "I don't want to die" is so much more powerful knowing that he knew what was happening, especially when no one else knew. Poor Tony was forced to helplessly watch Peter Parker die, and there was nothing he could have said or done to help.
Tony Stark's worst fear came true when Thanos snapped his fingers and his young protege mostly likely felt it all happen before he died.
What did you all think about this moment in the movie?
Fortnite’s season 4 is almost upon us and developer Epic Games has spent the last few days dropping hints by slowly filling in the teaser image for the highly-anticipated Season 4 Battle Pass. The studio added a superhero skin to the comet-shaped image every day. Yesterday, the final hero or villain was revealed just in time for the end of Season 3 and the possible start of Season 4 today, April 30. You can see the final teaser image for yourself down below:
As Season 4 approaches fast, there are still many unanswered questions, especially about the big blue comet that has been spotted in the sky ever since the introduction of Season 3. It is assumed that the comet is related to a twist that will be introduced in Season 4 given the similar structure of the teaser photo. Furthermore, people have been speculating on how the comet would affect the game overall, which could very well bring in aliens or even destroy Tilted Towers. Right now, anything is possible given that the developer didn’t release much information regarding the comet aside from “brace for impact.”
As the date for the latest season gets nearer every day, fans must keep a close eye on the developer’s Twitter account as news for the upcoming season is inevitable. Fortnite is available now for the PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and iOS.
Some interesting new information has surfaced for Damon Lindelof's upcoming HBO Watchmen series. The show is based on the iconic graphic novel created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, but we knew that it wouldn't be a direct adaptation.
Now, with the new information on the characters that have found their way online, we see that the series doesn't to be any kind of Watchmen adaptation at all. There is not one character mentioned here that I recognize. Here's what was posted by That Hashtag Show:
Angela Abraham: African-American female cop. Independent and intelligent, she's also a realist. She's married to Cal, with whom she has a daughter and is fiercely protective of them both.
Cal Abraham: African-American male who is the stay-at-home husband of Angela. While he seems at home as the king of his castle and being a loving husband and father, it's clear his past has a different story to tell.
Looking Glass: A good looking cop, the native Oklahoman isn't simple as his rural accent makes him appear to be. A top interrogator and behavioral scientist, he may also be a bit of a sociopath.
Panda: An ethnic desk cop, he's cynical and tough and puts his job first. Not a friend to many, he uses comedy to keep people at bay.
Red Scare: Mafioso, track suit wearing cop. His Russian accent lends to his abrasiveness.
Pirate Jenny: An androgynous and lustful bisexual cop, Jenny is an anarchist at heart.
Jane Crawford: The wife of the police chief, Judd, Jane is a veterinarian who's sharper than her guarded persona lets on.
Old Man: A former cop who is still an imposing figure despite his age.
Sounds like this Watchmen series is going to be about a bunch of Oklahoma cops? This is certainly unexpected! Maybe this series is just going to be set in different place in the Watchmen universe with different characters? Maybe the cops have it in for the costumed vigilantes? I'm not sure what's going on here, but this doesn't sound like a Watchmen series!
For many of us, MoviePass has been something that has helped us see movies more often and for less money. It's a pretty great service for the monthly fee. Users could even see the same movie as many times as they wanted. But now you better not doze off in that screening paid for by MoviePass because now you only get one shot to see a movie using their service.
MoviePass announced on Twitter that it will no longer allow users to see a movie more than one time.
We recently updated our Terms of Service to reflect that MoviePass subscribers are only permitted to see any movie in theaters once with your MoviePass. We hope this will encourage you to see new movies and enjoy something different!
But that's not all, apparently, the service is no longer selling its one-movie-per-day plan and will be limiting all new subscribers to seeing only 4 movies per month. MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe says that he doesn’t know if the “unlimited” plan will ever return. In an effort to save face, MoviePass is throwing in a 3-month trial of iHeartRadio’s All Access subscription. That makes no sense, movies and radio don't exactly go hand-in-hand. Another big change is that new customers will be billed quarterly, not monthly, so you have to pay for MoviePass in three-month chunks.
As a new subscriber, you are billed a quarterly fee for a 1 year subscription and can see 4 standard format movies per month. It includes a 3-Month Free Trial of iHeartRadio for new users who have never completed a 30-day free trial of iHeartRadio.
And in an attempt to make sure MoviePass users aren't using the service fraudulently, some users are even being asked to submit photos of their movie stubs as proof of purchase. It's not clear if this will eventually be the norm, or if this is just a test for specific areas.
Ticket verification is a new feature we're testing with a small group of users that will occur every time you see a movie, not just once. We apologize for any inconvenience as we learn how to better our product.
If you’re a big Marvel fan, you may recognize the name, Jim Starlin. For those that don’t, he’s the one who created the Mad Titan Thanos back in 1973. Thanos is the big bad guy in Avengers: Infinity War and I think Josh Brolin knocks it out of the park. I’m just a writer for a geek site though. What does Starlin think of the portrayal? He revealed this much on Facebook:
There you go. Starlin loved Brolin and I can’t argue. Avengers: Infinity War is out now, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend that you do. You’ll want to see it multiple times. After all, even Starlin admits that he needs to see it a few more times to fully process the film.
I somehow missed that a new Yu Yu Hakusho OVA was in the works. This was an awesome anime that I have said should get a live-action adaptation. Imagine my excitement that after about 21 years we’re getting something new. The new OVA will be released with the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray box set according to Anime Mojo. A new key visual was released that details that the OVA will feature how Hiei and Kurama first met. I am really excited for this to come out! You can look for more details about the box sets over on Studio Pierrot’s official site.
Hulu has cleaned house, and it's series The Path has not made the cut. The series was about a family in a religious cult-movement, that some have compared to a hippy commune/Scientology sect.
We followed the characters through crises of their faith, disruption of their relationships, legal and moral battles, and crazy life-changing moments. We just started watching this year, so we weren't caught up yet, but we had really enjoyed what we watched. Creator Jessica Goldberg had this to say in a statement:
"While it's sad that The Path is ending, I'm brimming with gratitude and pride. It was a gift to be able to tell challenging and emotional stories for three seasons in this very strange and unique world. The caliber of talent and passion everyone who worked on this show brought — from my partners Jason Katims and Michelle Lee, the execs at Hulu, the writers, actors, directors, designers and crew — was something to behold, and for which I'm very thankful. Thanks Hulu and Universal Television for taking a shot on this show, it was a life-changing experience."
Apparently, the series ended on a cliffhanger! I hate it when shows do that. I wish that they'd at least wrap things up for the fans out there who had gotten invested. Super bummer, but I will remember this show as being great while it lasted, and as some of the greatest performances from its actors. The show starred Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan, and Hugh Dancy.
Did you watch The Path and are you bummed out that it was canceled?
A new featurette for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been released and it's packed full of awesome new footage! The featurette includes the cast and crew talking about the film, specifically about the character Han Solo and his evolution. But, mixed in with that is a huge amount of footage that we've never seen before!
I enjoyed watching this featurette and the new footage that was shared definitely got me more excited about seeing the movie. It will be interesting to see how all of this fits in with the context of the story that will be told. Especially with the footage of Han as an Imperial foot soldier.
Solo: A Star Wars Story makes the jump to light speed in a high-octane adventure that navigates the perils of a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, forges new friendships that will last a lifetime, and reveals untold secrets from the hidden past of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. Han Solo meets loyal co-pilot Chewbacca and notorious gambler Lando Calrissian for the first time, bound by a desperate mission against impossible odds that will help shape the irresistible scoundrel audiences have come to love.
The Ron Howard directed film also stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke as Qi'Ra, Jon Favreau as Rio, Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos, Woody Harrelson as Beckett, and Thandie Newton as Val.
Solo: A Star Wars Story opens in theaters on May 25, 2018.
As expected, Avengers: Infinity War exploded at the box office this weekend! It made box office history with the biggest global opening weekend of all time!
The movie brought in $250 million from 4,474 locations in North America and $380 million in 52 international markets for a grand total of $630 million. That doesn't even include China! That's a massive debut! Over the past ten years, Marvel has earned over $15 billion!
In case you want to know what film that Infinity War had to beat out, it was The Fate of the Furious, which made over $541 million globally on its opening weekend.
No, James Cameron, audiences will not be getting "Avengers Fatigue" any time soon. These Marvel movies are stronger and more popular now than they've ever been!
Actor Robert Downey Jr. took to Instagram to thank all the fan for their support. Check out the messages that he posted and let us know what you thought of Avengers: Infinity War!
CinemaCon has been happening in Las Vegas and it’s given us a lot of info on upcoming movies. One that came as a bit of a surprise is a tiny update on Sherlock Holmes 3. In an interview with CinemaBlend, producer Joel Silver was asked about the fate of the third film, to which he responded:
I’m so excited! I loved Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and I know many of you also enjoyed the first two films. A little over a month ago, Downey himself said that he wants to work on the film again. At this rate, my guess would be a 2020 release. Are you excited to hear about this update?
