Maisie Williams Shoots Down Rumors of Reshoots for THE NEW MUTANTS

new_mutants.jpg

I was sad when The New Mutants was pushed back by about ten months. That’s almost a year! We already had a trailer for the film. Why would they push the movie that far back? Is this Disney’s doing? These are all valid questions that many fans had and it looks like the mouse may have had a little to do with it, but the film does not appear to be in any trouble. There have been reports that the post-production team wanted more time to work on the special effects. It is also suggested the move was to keep The New Mutants from being overshadowed by the other big comic book movies coming out in quick succession this year being put out by Disney and Fox including Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Deadpool 2. I can appreciate them wanting to provide this movie with some space. The change in release date though sparked a big wave of rumors saying the movie was doing a lot of reshoots. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Maisie Williams was asked about this and she says there were no reshoots:

I think everything you’ve just rattled off is just rumors. But we’re releasing early next year and I’m properly excited. I’ve seen little parts of it and I’ve done a load of ADR for it and it’s really exciting watching it all back. It feels a long while since we’ve done it, and I always enjoy going seeing little bits of it before it’s released, so I’m looking forward to it coming out.

I’m still excited for this film to come out next year, but I hope they realize that our expectations will be a lot higher since they’ve had an additional year to polish it.

This Failed Attempt To Sneak Into BLACK PANTHER Is Straight Out Of A Cartoon

Capture.JPG

It comes as no surprise that everyone is going out of their way to see Marvel's Black Panther. Right now the movie is destroying it at the box office and is breaking records along the way.

But two fans put in a little extra effort to see Black Panther at a discounted rate. Twitter user @stevelikescups posted this video online showing a suspiciously tall theater patron standing in line to buy tickets. See the video below:

It's pretty obvious that this is just one person sitting on the shoulders of another while wearing the longest trench coat known to man.  As you might imagine, their attempt at getting two in to the movie for the price of one didn't go over too well. But if nothing at all, it made for a good laugh as others standing in line gathered to take pictures and videos of the unusually tall mystery man.

This Is What OVERWATCH Could Look Like As A Fighting Game

For a few years now, Overwatch has become a household name in the arena of competitive gaming. Now, the guys at TGN have wondered how the characters of Overwatch will do when placed in a fighting game environment.

The video showcased how Overwatch would look like as a fighting game. The concept was shown via a YouTube video (posted above), that showed Overwatch characters battling each other. Reinhardt is pitted against Zarya, and Doomfist faced Genji. The concept video showed that all four characters were able to retain their abilities from Overwatch, which makes them effective in the fighting arena.

The video was made by TGN and said that it took them “a lot of time to make.” The team was able to make a realistic concept video by editing in-game scenes from Overwatch and included traditional fighting game visuals such as health bars, character portraits, a timer, stages, and more. Overall TGN’s  superb editing made an effective illusion of a fighting game. Personally, watching this concept video makes me want to have an Overwatch fighting game too. TGN made a good job of bringing an authentic fighting game feel on their video.

Although Overwatch is still first and foremost, a first-person shooter, it's definitely intriguing to see the characters in the game in a completely different game style. As of now, Blizzard has not reacted to the concept video. Hopefully, the developer will be inspired by TGN’s creation, and introduce a fighting mode in Overwatch, or probably a stand-alone spin-off game.

Would you like to see an Overwatch fighting game spin-off? Or should the game stick to the first person shooter genre? If this becomes an actual game, which Overwatch heroes would you like to see battle it out? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

A ROCKET LEAGUE Table Top Game By Hot Wheels Will Be Available This Year

DV7LFmOU0AI8pMO (1).jpg

Rocket League and Hot Wheels have teamed up again and is currently working on a real-life version of the popular game. The Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals tabletop game will allow players to have two Battle Cars from the video game and try to ram a soccer ball on their opponent’s goal.

The tabletop game was revealed during the Toy Fair in New York and features both Dominus and Octane vehicles from the game. It will also include a stadium, a game ball, and a charging base as a complete set.

The cars in RC Rivals will be controlled wirelessly via Bluetooth from the player’s smartphone or tablet devices. A built-in scoreboard will also be available and will automatically mark down scores via an infrared sensor located inside the ball. Lastly, to even add the feel of the video game, RC Rivals will include the sound effects of Rocket League for a genuine experience.

This will be the second time that Hot Wheels and Rocket League have collaborated. Back in 2017, Rocket League released a DLC that introduced two of Hot Wheels’ popular vehicles, Bone Shaker and Twin Mill III. Rocket League has also ventured into the toy car market for a while now as it has released a series of toy cars from Zag Toys and coming this March, eight Light-Up Clip-on vehicles will be released.

The Hot Wheels Rocket League RC toy set will be available later this year and will be priced at $180. You can check out the hands-on preview by CNET in the video clip below.

J.J. Abrams Says That THE LAST JEDI Fan Hate will Not Impact EPISODE IX “In The Least”

jj-abrams-says-that-the-fan-hate-of-the-last-jedi-will-not-impact-episode-ix-in-the-least-social.jpg

I was actually surprised by how much fans were split on their feelings for Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But, with that film behind us, we are now all wondering how J.J. Abrams will continue the saga with Episode IX. There are so many questions that fans want answered and a lot of fans hope that Abrams will fix what they feel went wrong with The Last Jedi

I wondered myself if all of the fan complaints and hate for The Last Jedi would affect the story and direction that Abrams is planning for Episode IX. In a recent interview with IndieWire, the director was asked about this and he is pretty much going to ignore all of the complaints and do his own thing. When asked if he would be adjusting his film to meet the expectations of fans, he said:

“Not in the least. There’s a lot that I would like to say about it, but I feel like it’s a little early to be having the Episode IX conversation… I will say that the story of Rey and Poe and Finn and Kylo Ren — and if you look, there are three men and one woman, to those that are complaining that there are too many women in Star Wars — their story continues in a way that I couldn’t be more excited about and cannot wait for people to see.”

When addressing the complaints about all the new female characters in these Star Wars films, Abrams said:

“If you are someone who feels threatened by women and needs to lash out against them, you can probably find an enemy in Star Wars. You can probably look at the first movie that George [Lucas] did and say that Leia was too outspoken, or she was too tough. Anyone who wants to find a problem with anything can find the problem. The internet seems to be made for that.”

Now, Abrams does note that he understands that the fans of the Star Wars franchise are extremely passionate and vocal:

“Certainly something I discovered early on in the Star Wars world, is that you’re going to have an incredibly passionate and vocal fanbase, and they’re all going to have a lot of specific opinions."

He's just not going to pay attention to the hate and let it affect the story that he wants to tell in Episode IX and you know what? He shouldn't let the complaints affect him. Episode IX is set to hit theaters on December 20, 2019.

What do you think about the thoughts that J.J. Abrams shares here?

Funko Has Finally Revealed Their Long-Awaited SMALLVILLE POP! Figures

funko-has-finally-revealed-their-long-awaited-smallville-pop-figures1

I'm shocked that it has taken so long for Funko to create a line of vinyl Pop! figures, but the first wave of them are finally here and there's no doubt that fans are going to want to get their hands on these. So far, the set includes Tom Welling's Clark Kent, Erica Durance’s Lois Lane, Michael Rosenbaum's Lex Luthor, and Justin Hartley's Green Arrow.

I have no doubt that more characters will follow. There's so many of them in this show including Lana Lang, Chloe Sullivan, Lionel Luthor, the Kents, or the all of the villains Clark faced off with over the years.

There are two versions of Clark Kent in the set. The first is one based on the very beginning of the series and the second figure represent the Clark at the very end when he flashed that iconic emblem. Seeing these makes me want to watch the series all over again.

The Smallville Funko POP!s are due to come out in April.

BLACK PANTHER Director Ryan Coogler Explains The Film’s Post-Credits Scene

I'm sure that by now many of you have already seen Black Panther. The movie exploded at the box office this weekend and it seems like, for the most part, fans love the film.

Like all Marvel movies, Black Panther treated fans to a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene. During a recent interview with Radio Times, director Ryan Coogler explained how that final post-credits scene ended up happening. It turns out that Marvel didn't ask the filmmakers to do add this scene and it wasn't required.

If you haven't seen Black Panther yet, and you don't want to know what the post-credits scene entails, I suggest you don't read ahead.

Here's what Coogler had to say:

"We weren’t asked to do it. Obviously it ties in, but the studio didn’t force our hand, or tell us what the post-credits scene should be. It was something that we were interested in, that we were interested in doing.
"And for us it was fun, because I think the audience, if they’re familiar with the MCU, knows that Bucky is in Wakanda. It was kind of a hold-off."
"Our film wasn’t about Bucky, obviously, [so] we didn’t feel like it would be right to deal with him in this context. But we thought it’d be cool for the fans that stayed ‘til the end to check in on this character that they love."

There wasn't much to the scene, but I will say that I was wondering if we would see Bucky in the movie! I was kinda hoping that he'd have a bigger role in the story because he was in Wakanda during this whole thing! I understand why they didn't include him, but at least they included him at the end and we got a little glimpse at what he was up to.

Kevin Feige Talks About The Leaked CAPTAIN MARVEL Costume Photo

A few weeks ago, we got our first look at Brie Larson in her Captain Marvel costume. If you haven’t seen it yet, go take a look. I’ll wait...

Are you back? Good. Well, you may notice that the suit she’s wearing is grey and green instead of the traditional red and yellow and blue. This inconsistency has set fans off in a bad way. The calmer fans have started theorizing what the meaning could mean, with one of the prevailing theories being that the picture is a prototype suit before Carol Danvers’ costume is finalized. In a recent interview, Kevin Feige himself was asked about the picture and the coloring. Here’s his response:

If you want to film out in public — and Captain Marvel has a lot of scenes that will be shot on location — it’s gonna happen. Everything is filmed [by paparazzi] nowadays, so years ago, we decided, ‘If it’s gonna happen, let it happen.’ Most people are savvy enough to know they’re looking at a behind-the-scenes photo, completely out of context. So we don’t do things like rush photos. We released some concept art of her with different colors. People online have correctly identified what’s going on there.

There you have it. Looks like fans were on to something with it being an early version of her suit.
