The SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Trailer is Even Better with Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”

Earlier this month we finally got our first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story and it managed to impress. Now a fan by the name of Chris Galegar, co-host of War Starts At Midnight, has created an awesome cut of the trailer that features Beastie Boys' classic song "Sabotage." Yeah, it was already used for the Star Trek reboot, and that's what actually inspired it in the first place. The trailer came with the note, "Because the first trailer felt an awful lot like 'Solo: A James Tiberius Kirk Story'".

As you'll see, the music perfectly blends together with the footage from the trailer and it actually kind of makes the trailer even more fun. But, in the end, it's a good thing that Lucasfilm didn't go this route. It really only works as a fan trailer. Watch it for yourself and tell us what you think!

PUBG Unveils Two New Cosmetic Crates That Will Be Available Today

Although PUBG has been experiencing a slight dip with its number of players, which could be traced back to the growing competition with battle royale games, PUBG Corp is ramping up its game by adding two new cosmetic crates, which will go live on February 22.

The new crates, called "Fever" and "Militia", aim to bring 70’s and 80’s inspired outfits in the game. According to the official announcement from PUBG Corp., the Fever crate will contain retro fashion items that will be available for players with Early Bird Keys or by purchasing them with BP. On the other hand, the Militia crate will include “the Ernagel resistance force outfit and Miramar frontiersman outfit.” The best thing about the Militia crate is that it will be free for all players.

Furthermore, just like with the Gamescom Invitational Crate, players may be able to obtain the whole set of items in a single Fever crate, if they’re lucky. Check out the list below that shows the individual drop rate per item, all of which can be obtained through the new free/paid crate boxes.

Joss Whedon Returns To BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER For Season 12 Comic

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is coming back for the twelfth season in its comic book form and fans will be happy to hear that creator Joss Whedon will be returning as well.

Dark Horse's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning will be the latest installment of the Buffyverse comic series and Whedon will co-write it with longtime Buffy writer Christos Gage. As much as I would have loved to see the TV series keep going, I have enjoyed the comic books that followed and I couldn't be happier that Whedon will be back to move the story forward. This will be the first time Whedon has worked on Buffy since Season 9 in 2011. Artist Georges Jeanty is also set to return to illustrate the upcoming adventures.

Thanks to CBR we have the art above and the following story details which reveals the return of Angel and Faith:

Picking up after the world-altering finale from Buffy Season 11, the series’ synopsis indicates that the Scooby Gang have had an uncharacteristically laid back year away from fighting the forces of evil. However, when Xander and Dawn’s housewarming is gatecrashed by some familiar faces, Buffy and her crew will reach for their stakes once again. Forced to battle with a legion of demons, Wolfram Hart and a vampire from the future called Harth, Buffy will apparently find herself trapped in a time warp that could end the Slayers forever.
With alternate futures clearly playing a big part, The Reckoning will once again bring back future Slayer Fray, who first appeared in 2001’s self-titled spin-off. The Reckoning will see the return of Faith and Angel, as well as fan-favorite Illyria, though whether they help or hinder the cause remains to be seen.

I like what I'm hearing and I can't wait to read it and see where the story takes these fantastic characters. I just have to say that I would love to see these comic series adapted into an animated series.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning #1 will go on sale June 20th and will be available with three variant covers from artists Stephanie Hans, Georges Jeanty with Karl Story and Dan Jackson, and Karl Moline,.

A Retro Starship Based on Early STAR WARS Concept Art Will Appear in SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY

We already know that Solo: A Star Wars Story will feature a very different looking Millennium Falcon that is inspired more by the original design from artist Ralph McQuarrie. Now there's another starship inspired by a retro design from 1974 that that will be appearing in the film. This new ship is called the Arrestor Cruiser, and fans noticed that there's a Solo toy for it.

This is an early Star Wars design from concept artist Colin Cantwell, who is the guy responsible for designing the X-Wings, TIE Fighters, Death Star, and several other ships in the film.

After the fans started calling it out, Cantwell confirmed that the new ship is actually based on his design, which he points out is an early design for the Star Destroyer. He also includes a side by side image showing the toy that features the updated design of the ship. In the posts below, the artist talks about the design of the ship and collaborating with George Lucas on them.

There are no details on what the ship will be used for or how it will be utilized in the story but it's pretty awesome to see that the creative team went digging into some early concept art and pulled this out to use in Solo.

The creation of the #Stardestroyer - I asked George about the scenes. We had a few words in which he described the scenes. I then asked "Is it bigger than Burbank?" to determine the size of the Imperial Cruiser and the opening scenes of the movie. The hatch concept was developed in terms of the need of actual scenes later in the movie. In the opeing I was describing something WWII-ish of a concept with a gunner in the fuscelage. The ship was designed with a lot of thought on what the viewer would experience related to the massiveness of the ship. This involved thinking of things and creating relationships between all of the ships and their interactions with each other. George and I also discussed several other topics in which I asked qualifying questions. This gave me enough information to start designing the ships. It also gave him the information to continue with his work. I was separate from George for most of that time and worked on the final products alone. I started by creating what had to be in the middle and things were added on and so forth. I basically designed this ship and other ships around the function and the impact of the ship on the viewer. The sequence of function and the emotion and it had to feel like it was already there. When starting on a ship, I never did know what it would look like by the end. PS - those fighters in the concept illustration were the original imperial attack ships. I didn't create the #TIE until much later. See the other concepts at

Very exciting! #solo will feature my original concept for the #stardestroyer. I absolutely can not wait to see her on the silver screen. See this 1974 concept and others at and even purchase autographed copies (if there are any left). #royaltiesplease #arrestorcruiser #starwars #colincantwell Questions I've heard so far - What are the radar dishes for? Originally anti-ship / space-to-land lasers, now likely tractor beams. Did I know ahead of time? Nope. News to me Am I getting a payday? Very unlikely unless you all buy prints on my website Why did I make such an ugly ship? Can't please everyone. The ships talk to me and mostly design themselves. I did help redesign her later on, but this concept still holds a special place in my mind

THE WALKING DEAD’s Lauren Cohan Set To Star in a New ABC Series Called WHISKEY CAVALIER

It doesn't look like Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan is going to last much longer on the series as she just booked the lead role in a new ABC drama pilot called Whiskey Cavalier

According to Variety, Cohan currently doesn't have a contract to return to The Walking Dead Season 9, but she's been in negotiations with AMC for months over her potential return. That's still up ion the air, but it's weird to think that she might be leaving the show. She's been a regular on it since Season 2.

As far as this new series goes, Whiskey Cavalier is described as a "high-octane hour-long action dramedy that follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super agent Will Chase (Scott Foley) who, following an emotional break-up, is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (Cohan). Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny, heroic spies who periodically save the world (and each other) while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics."

Sounds like it might be fun, but we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out. The series comes from writer and producer Dave Hemingson (The Catch, Uncle Buck).

Director Danny Boyle is Wanted For BOND 25

It looks like the producers have their sights set on director Danny Boyle to helm Bond 25! According to Variety, no offer has been made yet, but “Boyle has keen interest in the project and has always wanted to direct a Bond film.” Apparently, MGM has also been keen on getting Boyle on board a 007 film for years. It seems like the stars are aligning to make this happen.

Boyle, who has directed Trainspotting, 128 Hours, Sunshine, and Slumdog Millionaire, is a great choice to take on James Bond! If Christopher Nolan isn’t interested in doing it, Boyle is perfect. I’ve always thought that it would be cool to see him make a Bond movie and now there’s a chance it might actually happen!

Boyle is developing another project at the moment, but there’s no cast attached to it and it can easily be pushed back to make room for Bond 25 if he needs to.

Daniel Craig is set to reprise his role again, which was a big surprise to a lot of fans, especially after all the negative stuff he said about not wanting to play the character again. I was kind of hoping for a new actor to take on James Bond, but if Boyle ends up directing Craig in the film it could turn out pretty awesome.

What do you all think about The possibility of Boyle directing Bond 25?

Paramount Pictures is ready to get the ball rolling on their Dungeons and Dragons movie! According to Variety, the studio has found the director that they want to hire for the film.

Chris McKay, the guy who directed The LEGO Batman Movie and the upcoming Nightwing movie, is in negotiations with the studio to helm the fantasy adventure film. He must’ve had a pretty impressive pitch! He’s still a relatively new feature film director, who got his big break working on Robot Chicken, so to be landing these huge movie gigs for these big budget tentpole films, he must be quite the pitch man!

I loved what he did with The LEGO Batman Movie, but will he be able to kick ass with live-action films like Nightwing and Dungeons and Dragons? I guess we’ll find out!

The script for the movie is being written by Michael Gillio and Hasbro is said to have a big hand in the creative process of the film. This will be one of the first movies to be produced by AllSpark Pictures, which is pretty much Hasbro’s movie production company. They hope to transform themselves into a major player competing with the likes of Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment.

Paramount is also developing a few other projects with Hasbro including a G.I. Joe movie reboot, M.A.S.K., and Micronauts. They will also reboot the Transformers franchise after Bumblebee: The Movie.

What do you think about Chris McKay directing Dungeons and Dragons? What are you hoping to see from this movie? I just hope it gets an epic Lord of the Rings style level of quality.

Nereus and Mera Confirmed To Be Father and Daughter Instead of Lovers in AQUAMAN

If you’re keeping up to date on all of the rumors around Aquaman, you may have heard one that said Nereus and Mera would have a different kind of relationship than in the New 52 comics. That rumor has been confirmed as fact. In the New 52 comics, Mera and Nereus are would-be lovers, but according to Dolph Lundgren, they will be father and daughter. Talking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Lundgreen was asked a bit about his role in the film and he mentions this relationship:

It is good to be king. Basically, I try to keep the peace down there along with Amber Heard, who plays my daughter. She’s trying to convince me to join the right side. Then you have Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother. We’re trying to avoid war between the surface dwells and the people of Atlantis.

Well, there’s a twist for some fans. What do you think about this change in their relationship?

Aquaman will hit theaters December 21, 2018.

Jay Hernandez is No Tom Selleck, But He’s Set To Star in The MAGNUM P.I. Series Reboot

CBS has found their star for the Magnum P.I. series reboot that they've been developing. Jay Hernandez (Suicide Squad, Bright) will take on the role of Thomas Magnum, who was played by Tom Selleck in the original series. Hernandez is no Selleck, but we'll see how this ends up.

In the series, Thomas Magnum is a "decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator."

I enjoyed the original series and Tom Selleck was great in it. Hernandez has some big shoes to fill. The series is being developed by Peter Lenkov, who is the writer and producer behind current CBS reboots of Hawaii Five-O and MacGyverEric Guggenheim, an executive producer and writer on Hawaii Five-O, will also write and executive produce.

I never got into the Hawaii Five-O reboot. I watched the first few episodes but it just never grabbed me. I imagine that will be the result with Magnum P.I. seeing that it's coming from the same creative team. However, Justin Lin (Star Trek Beyond, Fast and Furious) will direct the pilot, so we'll see how it goes.

What do you think about Jay Hernandez taking on the lead role of Magnum P.I.?
