The Official Trailer For A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS Season 2 Has Been Released

The official trailer for A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 has arrived, and it looks even better than Season 1! The costumes, the characters, the grotesque nature of it's so on point and really makes me want to binge Season 1 so I can polish this Season off the day it releases.

More isn't always better. Sometimes it's much worse. March 30th, get ready for more villains, more schemes, more peril, more orphans and more intentional fires. It's really going to be quite dreadful. We can't wait.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

Smash 4 Weekend Wrap-Up

Last weekend featured two stacked Smash 4 events: Niconico Tokaigi 2018, a Japanese major, and Frostbite 2018, a major tournament held in Dearborn, Michigan. Both tournaments featured impressive lineups of world-class players; every member of the Panda Global Rankings top ten attended one of the events, with the exception of recently-retired world champion Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios.

At Tokaigi 2018, Zero Suit Samus main Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada reigned supreme, sweeping Leonardo “MKLeo” Lopez Perez in Grand Finals after losing a tight Winners Finals set to the Mexican’s Meta Knight. In Grands, however, Nairo reminded MKLeo why he was up 2-0 against him in the last Panda Global Rankings season, dominating MKLeo’s Meta Knight and forcing him to unsuccessfully switch to Cloud during the last game of Grand Finals.

The rest of Tokaigi’s bracket was marked by several notable upsets. Top Lucario player Tsubasa “Tsu” Takuma double-eliminated PGR No. 7 Larry “Larry Lurr” Holland and vanquished top Japanese Olimar Shuto “Shuton” Moriya to secure a 4th-place finish; before this tournament, Tsu had had a 0-3 lifetime record against Larry Lurr, making his accomplishment all the more impressive. Japanese Dr. Mario player Rizeasu had a breakout tournament, defeating top Zero Suit Samus Toshimasa “Choco” Hayakawa and nearly taking a set off of MKLeo before falling just short of Top 8.

Though the upsets at Tokaigi provided continued evidence of Smash 4’s infamous volatility, the outcome of Frostbite 2018 was a tale of consistency—at least for one competitor. At the end of the weekend, Samuel “Dabuz” Buzby lifted Frostbite’s trophy, reinforcing his reputation as one of Smash 4’s most consistent top players. The world’s preeminent Rosalina main used his notoriously patient playstyle to run through a bracket chock-full of killers, including Gavin “Tweek” Dempsey and Tamim “Mistake” Omary, respectively the second- and third-place finishers.

Mistake was the overachiever of the tournament; ranked No. 13 on the most recent Panda Global Rankings, the Bayonetta main defeated Ramin “Mr. R” Delshad and Griffin “Fatality” Miller while on his way to Winner’s Finals.

Perhaps the most notable upset at Frostbite 2018 included Fatality’s electrifying win over the tournament’s first seed, Saleem “Salem” Young. Salem, fresh off of a Team Liquid sponsorship, entered the tournament with high hopes, but would eventually fall to Tweek in Loser’s Semifinals to end at a disappointing fourth place.

Additionally, Melee veteran Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman proved that he’s still a force to be reckoned with in the newest Smash title, defeating Panda Global ranked players Eric “Mr. E” Weber and Jestise “MVD” Negron in an impressive bracket run. Unfortunately, his fellow Melee god Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma didn’t fare as well, failing to make Top 192 at the event.

Ultimately, many Smash 4 fans left Frostbite 2018 with a bitter taste in their mouths, mostly due to its oversaturation of Bayonetta players: with Tweek mostly using Bayonetta, three of Frostbite’s top four finishers played Bayonetta. However, Dabuz’s victory is proof that the slippery and combo-heavy downloadable content character is far from insurmountable.

Number of Episodes Confirmed for STRANGER THINGS Season 3

The first season of Netflix’s original series Stranger Things had eight episodes. The second season had nine. The third season does not have ten. In fact, the number goes down to eight again. This confirmation comes from TVLine who also reports that production for the season will start mid-April 2018. I’m really excited for this series to return, but am very sad that it probably won’t be until 2019. We still don’t know too much, but I’m glad to know that Will Byers will catch a break. I’ve felt so bad for him these last two seasons. My wife and I have joked before that season 3 should just be about Will having the best day of his life. Maybe he goes to Disneyland!

Apart from Will catching a break after two brutal seasons, I’m excited to see more Dustin and Steve. That relationship was a nice surprise and it really made me care about Steve. I’m sad we’re only getting eight episodes in season 3, but I’m sure they’ll be great just like the last two.

Richard Linklater’s Next Film is a Coming-of-Age Story Set Around The Moon Landing in 1969

Writer and director Richard Linklater is in the process of developing his next film project, and he recently revealed some new details regarding it during an interview with The Houston Chronicle. I enjoy Linklater's film work, he's a great director that has made some fantastic films that depict youth culture during different eras. The Before trilogy, Dazed and Confused, Everybody Want's Some, and Boyhood all show off his talent.

In this recent interview, the filmmaker reveals that his next movie will be another coming-of-age story set in Houston, Texas in 1969. The story will revolve around the historic moon landing. According to the report, Linklater was inspired to make this movie while shooting Boyhood. He "began thinking about his own childhood and that pivotal summer when he was watching man walk on the moon just weeks before entering third grade."

The story will be told from the kid's point-of-view, and we can expect a great soundtrack featuring what Linklater's calls some "regional hits." The director explains:

“You had so much going on in Houston at once: NASA, the Medical Center, the Astrodome… There was a communal atmosphere. You had all these kids with parents working at NASA for a common goal.”

Linklater and his team are also actively looking for old home videos and archival footage from that era to feature in the film to give the movie some authenticity. In regards to that, Linklater says, "There is no wrong material, as long as it's from Houston in the 1960s we want to see it." Here's are some additional details on what they are looking for:

“Director Richard Linklater needs your Houston area photos, videos from the 1960s for a new movie. Have a home movie from Astroworld or the Astrodome, or a recording of your little brother with Kitirik? Did someone you know use a Kinescope to record the moon landing? If so, we want to see it and anything else that documents that era."

The filmmaker is hoping to have this new film released around the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 2019. Are you looking forward to seeing what Linklater does with this next film of his?

THE INCREDIBLES 2 Winter Olympics Promo Spots Tease an Upcoming Special Look

During the Winter Olympics, Disney has been teasing an upcoming special look at the highly anticipated Pixar film The Incredibles 2 with a couple of promo spots that they have released. That special look will be coming on Wednesday, so make sure to keep a look out for that. We'll definitely be posting it here on the site when it's released online. We also have a couple new promo posters for the film for you to check out that have popped up during Fashion Week.

We've already seen a teaser trailer for the film that seemed to get fans of the franchise excited for the continuation of the story, and I imagine this upcoming special look will offer up more footage and additional details on the story. After all these years, I'm surprised that this sequel is actually happening, but I'm extremely excited for it!

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in Incredibles 2 – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Also voicing roles are Brad Bird, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Jonathan Banks, Sophia Bush, and Isabella Rossellini. You can see a full breakdown of characters that will appear in the film here.

Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Incredibles) has come back to direct the film and it's set to be released in theaters on June 15, 2018.

Chris McKay Offers Update on His NIGHTWING Film and You Can Help Him Cast The Character

Last we heard about Nightwing, Dacre Montgomery from Stranger Things was trying to get the lead role. Well, we still don’t have a name yet, and that could be because director Chris McKay hasn’t chosen anyone yet. In fact, he is asking fans on Twitter to help cast the character.

Now, he’s not giving us any names of people to choose from, nor is he asking for actors, what he is asking for though is for people to describe the singular most important quality the character has and then you can vote for one of four attributes for the actor to have. That’s pretty cool. Not many directors are asking this kind of input from fans, but then again, asking the Internet isn’t always the best thing. Remember Boaty McBoatface?

In addition to McKay asking for some help, we also have found out that the script is almost done. In another tweet he gave us this news:

I’m hesitant when it comes to Nightwing. I want it to be a good movie, and I hope they find the right actor for it. I am just hesitant because of DC’s current track record with their films. I’m hoping that with the changes made to the organization of the studio that things will improve. Who should they cast to play Dick Grayson?
