A new full trailer has been released for the wonderfully entertaining fake Crocodile Dundee sequel, Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home. The trailer introduces us to the fully loaded impressive cast which includes Danny McBride, Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, Liam Hemsworth, Jessica Mauboy and Luke Bracey.
The marketing behind this elaborate Crocodile Dundee Super Bowl ad for Australian Tourism is bloody brilliant! It sucks that this isn't a real movie, but it's still extremely entertaining! I know I've enjoyed everything that I've seen from it so far!
Crocodile Dundee is back. Well, actually, he’s missing in the Outback. And the only person who might be able to find him is the loudmouthed American son no one knew he had. Introducing Danny McBride as Brian Dundee. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under. It’s time to live up to the family name. Unlike his father, Brian grew up a true city kid. But that won’t stop him from picking up his dad’s oversized knife and launching into the Australian outback, completely unprepared for what lies ahead.
Hemsworth takes on the role of Wally Jr., the son of Dundee’s business partner Walter “Wally” Reilly, who was played by John Meillon in the first two films, and Russell Crowe is obviously the villain J.P. Steele. Hugh Jackman plays the Prime Minister, Robbie plays Lil’ Donk, Crowe plays J.P. Steele, Isla Fisher plays Dr. Clark, Ruby Rose plays Chief Jackson, Liam Hemsworth plays Wes Windsong, Jessica Mauboy plays Miss Thompson and Luke Bracey is the Cricket Legend.
Donald Glover performed at last night's Grammy's and while his album Awaken My Love didn't get the award for Album of the Year, he still crushed his performance rocking a full-on Lando stache! We can assume that's why he's rocking the facial hair anyway as Glover also is sporting a little beard on his chin he can quickly shave off if there has to be any reshoots. Check out his full performance below and tell us what you thought about it! It always blows my mind just how crazy talented this guy is!
I didn't see a lot of horror movies at Sundance this year. Usually, there are a few horror films that I see, but this year there was only one true horror movie that I saw... Hereditary. It was the last movie that I saw at the festival and holy shit! It was so good and the perfect film to end the festival on.
I'm a big fan of the horror genre and usually, there's always one great horror film to come out of Sundance and Hereditary was that film. It's more of a psychological horror thriller that messes with your head and it goes into some creepy-ass bone-chilling territory.
There's not a lot of in-your-face horror thrills in this movie. This is a slow burn horror movie where the suspense just builds and builds until it explodes at the end. A lot of the scary aspects of the film lurks in the shadows and through the sounds. There are also some incredibly frightening visuals and brutal themes that will make audiences gasp and ginge at.
I would liken the film to the classic horror thriller Rosemary's Baby. It has the same kind of vine and tone, only this one goes a little further and a lot darker. Here's some food for thought, imagine if the baby born at the end of Rosemary's Baby wasn't the right vessel for the devil. Hereditary kind of images what might happen if that was the case.
The story follows the Graham family whose lives start to fall apart after their reclusive grandmother dies. There is a lot of mystery behind their grandma's life and her presence casts a dark shadow over the family after she dies. I don't want to get into too many details because I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just tell you as much as the official synopsis for the film reveals.
The presence of their grandmother looms over her loner teenage granddaughter, Charlie, "whom she always had an unusual fascination with. As an overwhelming terror takes over their household, their peaceful existence is ripped apart, forcing their mother to explore a darker realm in order to escape the unfortunate fate they've inherited."
As the story unfolds, all kinds of nightmarish things begin to unfold and the mysteries surrounding the grandmother and what she was a part of begin to reveal themselves. Trust me... the story of this movie doesn't go in the direction you think it will go.
The movie was helmed by first time writer and director Ari Aster and I love the delirious dreadfulness that the movie offers. If you're a fan of horror films, you're definitly going to want to watch this one.
The movie also has a great cast that includes Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, Ann Dowd, and actress Milly Shapiro, a young Broadway actress who gives a haunting performance.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is controversial, but I think most of us can agree there was at least one cool scene. Rey and Kylo Ren teaming up to fight Snoke’s Praetorian Guards. It was the coolest freaking scene in that film. Well, remember those Pennywise Dancing memes? Yeah, someone has done that to the coolest scene in The Last Jedi. The results are hilarious! You can find them all on @rachlikesbands' Twitter. My favorite is the “Toxic” by Britney Spears. Which is your favorite?
Nicolas Cage has a new film out in a couple weeks, and it looks interesting. Looking Glass is about a couple who purchases a hotel in the desert, only for Ray to discover there's a secret corridor that allows them to watch guests without them knowing. Check out the full synopsis below and continue reading:
Ray and his wife look to start over by buying an old motel in the middle of the desert. Things take a turn for the worse however when Ray witnesses a murder through a two-way mirror. As they struggle to escape, they discover more and more gruesome secrets involving the hotel and its visitors. Looking Glassis directed by American filmmaker Tim Hunter, of the films Tex, Sylvester, River's Edge, Paint It Black, The Saint of Fort Washington, The Maker, The Failures, Control, and The Far Side of Jericho previously. The screenplay is written by Jerry Rapp and Matthew Wilder.
The concept of the film sounds similar to the Netflix documentary Voyeur, where a man constructed a hotel exactly like this and spied on his guests. Check out the trailer below, and see the film in select theaters and VOD February 16.
About a year ago I was introduced to a band named The Cybertronic Spree with the performance of a cover of the song "Dare" from the original animated film Transformers: The Movie. I love this band! I love that they freakin' get all decked out as the classic 80s Transformers characters!
They are back with a new music video for you to enjoy as they perform the song "True Survivor" which is the hit single by David Hasselhoff. "Inspired by the cult classic film, Kung Fury, these rockstars in disguise pay tribute to David Sandberg's over the top style."
I'm a fan of this band and I think you're going to enjoy their latest retro-tastic music video!
The community that follows the most popular creative sandbox game Minecraft has continued to grow and in-turn so has the game. Players from all over the world have created some serious masterpieces inside of the game from monuments to theatrical roller coasters. The creativity never ends as long as the possibility to build, construct, and experiment remains.
What most Minecraft players don't know is the games being created from the inspiration the developers found inside such a great survival and/or creative adventure sandbox styled game. I have pulled together the top four that have caught my attention that I think fans of Minecraft could find themselves enjoying. The following list is in no particular order, so lets begin!
Virtual Earth Online
Offering similar gameplay, but with more building pieces than Minecraft, this completely free-to-play title is one of the most accurately done games to match the creative sandbox adventure. Each player will be able to sport a real character, instead of the typical blocky one, and build a world of their own in Virtual Earth Online, or VEO.
There are tons of titles out there that go unnoticed, and this game not being available on Steam isn't doing it any favors, but this is one game that Minecraft fans should take a moment to try out themselves. Buildings and other construction projects will have a wider variety of looks thanks to the smaller blocks used to make the shapes and the variety of different types they have made available.
Coming from 505 Games is a whole new perspective to the open world survival aspect. Memories of Mars will be taking you away from the home planet and placing you on the sci-fi version of Mars, you will find that the world isn't so void of life as we choose to believe today. Traverse the red planet in search of resources and build yourself a base in order to truly find your place by setting up a home in the unknown terrain.
Expected to launch in Spring of 2018, this is one of the more intriguing titles that I think Minecraft fans will be looking forward to exploring. Are you ready to conquer a new world?
You can learn more about Memories of Mars on their website.
Focusing on the survival side of the sandbox world over the creative building aspect is Orc Island. While there is resources to gather and buildings to be built up, the focus of this title is more in answering the question: 'How will you survive?'
This game is made by the same team behind Virtual Earth Online, but the more aggressive approach could be just what some of the more hardcore Minecraft fans are looking for. We all know that the depths of a mine could quickly become deadly, but it is also easy to prepare for it. What will you do in a world that isn't so familiar?
This completely free game is available on the Orc Islandwebsite.
Taking an approach that is led by a green thumb, Eco by Strange Loop Games is going to bring a Minecraft world into an environmental balance. This time you won't be able to just completely clear out an area or plug up a lake for your own convenience. Instead, it is time that you consider what your actions will do to the environment because without it you can't survive!
I love the idea of having to keep up with the environment and look forward to this games launch on Steam come February 6th. You can learn more about Eco on their website.
There you have it! Four games that Minecraft players will be able to truly enjoy and two of them are already available to be played for free. Which of these titles seemed most interesting to you?
Sam Raimi is about to jump on board his next film project. He is currently in negotiations to helm The Kingkiller Chronicles, which is based on the classic book series by Pat Rothfuss. Raimi will work with Hamilton star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda on the project as he is set to serve as the creative producer and musical mastermind of the feature film. There's also a TV series that is in development that he's involved with.
Sam Raimi has directed a film since 2013's Oz The Great and Powerful, so it's awesome to see that he's got a new film project to jump on board. Since he made Oz, Raimi has been working on the Ash Vs. Evil Dead series.
The Kingkiller Chronicles film will be an adaptation of the first book in the series, "The Name of the Wind." The script will be adapted by Lindsey Beer, who most recently served as a writer on Transformers: The Last Knight. Hopefully, she does better with this script than The Last Knight!
The series is centered on the wizard Kvothe, who survives a tragic childhood to become a notorious household name. “The Kingkiller Chronicle” series of books and novellas has sold 10 million copies, and the first two books — “The Name of the Wind” and “The Wise Man’s Fear” — were New York Times bestsellers.
This is the description from the book that the first film will be based on:
Told in Kvothe's own voice, this is the tale of the magically gifted young man who grows to be the most notorious wizard his world has ever seen.
The intimate narrative of his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, his years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime-ridden city, his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic, and his life as a fugitive after the murder of a king form a gripping coming-of-age story unrivaled in recent literature.
A high-action story written with a poet's hand, The Name of the Wind is a masterpiece that will transport readers into the body and mind of a wizard.
This sounds like it will be a great fantasy project for Raimi to take on and I'm looking forward to seeing what he ends up doing with it.
Have you read the book series and do you think Raimi is the right man for the job?
Tom Hanks has just landed an amazing new movie role as he will be playing iconic TV personality Mr. Rogers in a new biopic being produced called You Are My Friend. I love that Tom Hanks is playing Mr. Rogers! He's one of my favorite actors and he's going to be great in the role!
The movie is also being directed by Diary of a Teenage Girl director Marielle Heller from a script written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.
The film is inspired by a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod. In the story, a cynical journalist begrudgingly accepts an assignment to write a profile piece on the beloved icon and finds his perspective on life transformed.
Sounds like it will be a heartfelt inspiring story, and I'm really looking forward to it, especially with Hanks playing Rogers. The director of the film had this to say in a statement:
"I’m thrilled to be making ‘You Are My Friend.' The script knocked me out with its message of kindness and its exploration of the human spirit. As a mother, I am so inspired by the teachings of Fred Rogers and as a human I am in awe of his life’s work. I can’t wait to bring his story to the public and be a part of such a thoughtful, smart group of people who are all coming together to make this film, which truly feels to me like an antidote to our very fractured culture."
Hannah Minghella, president of TriStar Pictures added:
"This is the perfect alchemy of talent coming together at the perfect time to remind us all of the transformative power of kindness and respect to heal and to unite. We are proud to partner with Marielle, Tom and everyone at Big Beach to bring this inspirational true story to audiences all over the world."
Producer Marc Turtletaub then offered the following statement:
"Now more than ever, we all need a re-introduction to Fred Rogers’ message of uncompromising love and kindness between all living things. Mari Heller is the perfect visionary filmmaker to bring Noah and Micah’s script to life and because of her vision and this remarkable script, we have the quintessential actor to play Fred Rogers."
I'm very excited about this film project. I've wondered when Hollywood would actually get around to making a film about Mr. Rogers. Now, here it is. Production is set to begin in the fall.
Epic Games has announced that it will no longer be running live servers for it's third person MOBA, PARAGON. The game, which initially debuted in 2016 was supposed to be a new take on the MOBA genre. Despite it supposedly having 7 Million players in April 2017 it seems as though the expectations for the game, as well as people interest have shifted into Battle Royale Arena style games like Fortnite.
Epic Games has released an apology to it's players, fans, and those who probably expected more from the game.
It’s with heavy hearts we’ve decided to close down Paragon.
We truly appreciate everything you’ve put into Paragon. We received many passionate ideas for where to take the game; the outpouring of thoughtful suggestions is another testament to this incredible community.
After careful consideration, and many difficult internal debates, we feel there isn’t a clear path for us to grow Paragon into a MOBA that retains enough players to be sustainable.
We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon. We have failed you -- despite the team’s incredibly hard work -- and we’re sorry.
Along with the apology, Epic Games is offering a full refund to those who want it. To get your refund you simply need to link your Epic account if your on another platform, or if you are on PC you can click this link, and it will take you to the page where Epic Games will deliver the refund, instead of the place you purchased it. As server populations decrease the matchmaking times and the quality of the game will slowly get worse, in other words it will be a slow and painful death for the game that many people enjoyed.
I think it shows a lot of composure from the company itself to deliver the refund. In today's money grabbing video game world it's somewhat refreshing to see developers not only apologizing for a failed product but also trying to make up for it in ways that hurt them, and in this case financially.
What are your thoughts? Are you sad to see PARAGON go? Do you think it was simply released at a time that was dooming it to failure from the get go?
