I've got a great new fan-made short film for Stranger Things called The 12th Search that you've got to check out. What I like about this is that it takes place in a small town in England. Basically, the short imagins that Hawkins, Indiana isn't the only place in the world where experiments involving the Upside Down are taking place. In this short, there's a portal to the upside Down discovered near the Rendlesham Forest in the United Kingdom. Here's a description of the story:
In 1984 the upside down is spreading to military research centre's across the pond. The town folk of Rendlesham, England are conducting their 12th search in the forest for one of many recent disappearances. Unfortunately on this night one of the searchers discovers what is taking these victims.
"I am a massive fan of Netflix's Stranger Things and wanted to make a short fan film to show my admiration for the show. I wanted to treat it almost like a spinoff set in England showing a connection between these research facilities around the world and the spread of the upside down as well as adding a new creature to the universe."
Rainn Wilson & Angela Kinsey don't get together often, but when they do its confusing. Kinsey, who played a character named Angela on The Office, is constantly confused by whether or not the people screaming her name when she's out with Rainn Wilson are people she legitimately knows, or they're just fans of the show. Listen to Kinsey talk about it below and watch Wilson sit there in silence below.
The creator of Peaky Blinders, Stephen Knight, is teaming up with Tom Hardy to develop a new BBC series. The show is based on the work of Charles Dickens and it will adapt his classic stories.
According to THR, the first season of the series will start with A Christmas Carol. The classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge will be told in three hourlong episodes and Ridley Scott's Scott Free London production company will be producing.
Hardy and Knight have previously worked together on the shows on the shows Taboo and Peaky Blinders, so you can bet we are going to get another quality series! I assume we are going to get a very different, dark, and stylized version of this story than anything we've ever seen before. I wonder if we'll see Hardy in the role of Scrooge because that would be amazing!
When talking about the show, Knight had this to say in a statement:
"Any question about narrative storytelling is answered by Dickens. To have the chance to revisit the text and interpret in a new way is the greatest privilege. We need luck and wisdom to do this justice."
BBC Drama head Piers Wenger added:
"Steven's unique ability to reimagine the past and to turn it into must-see drama make him the perfect writer to reinvent Dickens' most famous works for a new generation."
Then this is what Ridley Scott had to say:
"It’s terrific to be continuing the creative partnership of Scott Free London with Tom and Steve that started with Taboo and continues with this exciting and ambitious anthology of British classics."
Some other adaptations that we'll probably end up seeing include Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, Nicholas Nickleby, Bleak House, A Tale of Two Cities, and Great Expectations. The one I really want to see get made is David Copperfield!
If you're a fan of Scooby-Doo, you might be happy to hear that there's a live-action spin-off film in development that will focus on the teen-girl sleuths, Daphne and Velma. The movie will give us an origin story for these fan-favorite characters.
The movie is called Daphne and Velma, and it tells the story of Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley before they team up with Scooby and the rest of the Mystery Inc. gang. Here's the synopsis:
The mystery-solving teens are best friends but have only met online — until Daphne transfers to Velma’s school, Ridge Valley High, stocked with high-tech gadgetry by the school’s benefactor, tech billionaire Tobias Bloom. While their peers vie for a coveted internship at Bloom’s company, Daphne and Velma try to uncover the reason why the school’s brightest students are disappearing — only to emerge again in a zombie-fied state.
The film is being produced by the Tisdale sisters’ Blondie Girl Productions and Warner Bros. Television Group’s Blue Ribbon Content digital studio. They've also cast the two feamle leads. Sarah Jeffery (Shades of Blue) will take on the role of Daphne and Sarah Gilman (Last Man Standing) will star as Velma.
Producers Ashley and Jennifer Tisdale had this to say in a joint statement:
“Blondie Girl is committed to telling stories from a female perspective and we could not be more thrilled to give Daphne and Velma their own story. It’s so exciting to partner with Warner Home Entertainment and Blue Ribbon Content to introduce a new generation to the smart, charismatic, fearless females that we all know and love.”
Peter Girardi, EVP of Blue Ribbon Content and EVP of alternative programming of Warner Bros. Animation added:
"We wanted to give the audience a new take on these two familiar faces, who are fan favorites in the Scooby-Doo universe."
The film is currently shooting in Atlanta and will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in 2018. Anyone excited that Daphne and Velma are getting their own movie?
Shortly after we learned that Spider-Man star Tom Holland "accidentally" leaked the first Avengers: Infinity War poster before he was supposed to, now Marvel has officially released a high res version of it online!
It was officially announced that the official Avengers: Infinity War trailer will be released tomorrow and the studio shared a teaser featuring Marvel fandom at its best. Yeah, fans were hoping for footage in that teaser, but don't worry, it's coming tomorrow! One of our commenters had the perfect reaction after watching the trailer tease saying:
"Thanks for the Blue Balls, MARVEL!"
Some fans have already seen footage from the film that was released at Comic-Con and D23 last year, but you can bet your ass that this new trailer is going to give us new footage for us to drool over. I imagine that the heads of the fans who haven't seen any footage from the movie yet are going to explode!
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”
Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released on May 4th, 2018.
The excitement for Avengers: Infinity War is building! Marvel recently released a promo video teasing the trailer which is going to be released tomorrow!
While we wait for that trailer, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland got a little ahead of himself again. He recently posted a video on social media of him revealing a poster for Avengers: Infinity War. He wasn't supposed to reveal the poster because not long after the video when live, he took the video down. But, thanks to CB, we have a screenshot of Holland revealing the poster below.
Yeah, it's not really a crazy awesome poster as it only features the Avengers logo, but I thought it was just funny that once again Tom Holland did something he wasn't supposed to do.

A new international poster has surfaced for Marvel's Black Panther and it features our hero, played by Chadwick Bousman, sporting an updated costume. This is our best and most detailed up-close look yet at Black Panther's new mask and I dig it. I also included a previously released international trailer for you to watch in case you missed it.
I'm so excited about this movie! I love that Marvel is once again doing something completely different and made a film with a completely different style than anything they've done before. There's no doubt this movie is going to be wicked cool!
Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Black Panther stars Michael B. Jordan., Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, and Angela Bassett. It's set to open in theaters on February 16, 2017.
Marvel has released a trailer tease for their highly anticipated film Avengers: Infinity War, which is the beginning of the end of the MCU that we've come to know and love over the years. What I love about this tease is that it completely puts the focus on the excitement of the fans.
There's no footage in the promo video, but it confirms that tomorrow the trailer will drop and you will get to bask in the glory of the first officially released trailer of Avengers: Infinity War! Get hyped!
I can't wait to see what this trailer will be loaded with, but there's no doubt that fans are going to go ape-shit!
After the first cast photo of Fantastic Beasts: The Crime of Grindelwald was released there was an uproar from fans that they kept Johnny Depp in the role of Gellert Grindelwald. Why? Because Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard made domestic violence accusations against the actor two years ago and since Hollywood is currently cleansing itself from anyone who has been accused of sexual harassment in any form, some people feel that Depp should've been replaced.
Well, veteran Harry Potter franchise director David Yates recently opened up about Johnny Depp and defends keeping him on board. In an interview with EW, he said:
“Honestly, there’s an issue at the moment where there’s a lot of people being accused of things, they’re being accused by multiple victims, and it’s compelling and frightening. With Johnny, it seems to me there was one person who took a pop at him and claimed something. I can only tell you about the man I see every day: He’s full of decency and kindness, and that’s all I see. Whatever accusation was out there doesn’t tally with the kind of human being I’ve been working with.”
Yates went on to talk about how several of Depp's exes have come out to defend him including Vanessa Paradis, Lori Anne Allison and Winona Ryder.
“By testament, some of the women in [Depp’s] life have said the same thing — ‘that’s not the human being we know,' It’s very different [than cases] where there are multiple accusers over many years that need to be examined and we need to reflect on our industry that allows that to roll on year in and year out. Johnny isn’t in that category in any shape or form. So to me, it doesn’t bear any more analysis. It’s a dead issue.”
I have no idea if these comments are going to smooth things over with the fans that want Depp gone, but the studio obviously isn't going to let him go. What do you think about what Yates had to say about Depp?
Yates is currently shooting the film in London and this is the synopsis that was previously released:
At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crime of Grindelwald is set to be released on November 16, 2018.
Blade Runner 2049 may not have been a big box office success but it was an incredibly well-made sequel to Ridley Scott's original film. A lot of fans weren't expecting the sequel to end up being as great as it was.
During an interview with Deadline, director Denis Villeneuve talked about developing the film and how the responsibility he felt in honoring the original. He also explained that Ridley Scott would give him complete freedom:
“I had the responsibility to respect, to honor the legacy of the original movie. Now, he told me right at the start he would give me, total, all the space, all the freedom, he will step away, it will be my responsibility.”
Now, even though Ridley Scott gave him the freedom to make the sequel he wanted, Scott still showed up on set and one day it seemed to annoy Villeneuve to the point where he made Scott leave. However, he did this in a complimentary way. He explains:
“He came on set one day and after a few minutes standing behind me it was unbearable. I made a joke, I said to him, 'Hey Ridley, who is your favorite director?' And he said, 'I love Ingmar Bergman and Kubrick.' I said 'I love Bergman too. So Ridley, how would you feel if you were on set and you had Bergman just behind you?' And he burst out laughing and he walked off the set. Because I was trying to direct Harrison Ford and I was like, 'Nope, it doesn't work.”
Yeah, I can relate to that. When I was going to school to be an artist and animator, I was doing some storyboard art and one of my animation idols came to stand over my shoulder and watch. I was completely sweating bullets and broke under the pressure. The work I was doing ended up completely sucking ass.
It makes sense that Villeneuve would have made Scott leave like that! That's not a fun pressure to feel.
