Disney is very controlling of everything they own. The vault lets them control the supply of their movies and they don’t want anything leaked that could even hint to a child that Disneyland is not a magical place. That is why it is so cool that they have released a time-lapse video of a crew working through the night to transform Sleeping Beauty’s Castle for the holiday season. It’s not a fake video of fairies flying around waving their magic wands and throwing pixie dust everywhere, but an actual video that features people on cranes lowering the decorations into place and the crew moving lights. This peek behind the curtain is rare and interesting to watch. Did you know that the tops came of like that?
David Fincher and Joe Penhall's Mindhunter is one of my favorite series of the year so far and I'm excited to report that it has been renewed for a second season!
Netflix made the announcement on the show's official Twitter account with a video that you can watch below. Mindhunter was such an intense series and the ending really left me hanging, so I'm so happy that the story of these characters will continue with Season 2.
The series has an amazingly talented cast that includes Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, Hannah Gross, and newcomer Cameron Britton, who amazingly portrays serial killer Ed Kemper.
The series is an adaptation of the 1996 nonfiction novel by Mark Olshaker and John Douglas‘ called "Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit." It's set in the 1970s and explores the early days of criminal psychology and profiling as two FBI agents would travel and interview imprisoned serial killers in an attempt to apply what they learn to current cases.
What did you think of Mindhunter and are you excited to learn that Mindhunter is getting a Season 2?

Two videos have surfaced online that breakdown the new Avengers: Infinity War trailer. The first video comes from Screen Crush and offers up 36 Easter eggs and secrets. The second comes from Mr. Sunday Movies and offers ten things missed and Easter eggs.
I don't know about you, but I've enjoyed watched the trailer for this film over and over again! I even posted a bunch of screenshots for fans to comb through. But, in case you want to make sure you squeeze everything you can out of this trailer, these videos should do the trick. After watching these, there's not much left to discover, unless they missed something!
Back in 2013, the famous Hayao Miyazaki announced his retirement which lead to the dissolving of the Studio Ghibli production department. However, earlier this year, it was announced that he would be coming out of retirement to head a new movie called How Do You Live?
This new film just started production in October and has lead to the revival of the production team. This revival, of course, requires leadership, so former Ghibli Museum director Kiyofumi Nakajima was appointed as the new president this week with former president Koji Hoshino becoming chairperson and Toshio Suzuki continuing as producer according to ANN.
This changeup to the leadership points to a new wave of productions headed our way which is exciting! Are you excited about seeing more Ghibli films?
Justice League is now in theaters and most people will agree that the movie is less than perfect. A lot of that has to do with the fact that the film faced a lot of the internal problems by those involved with bringing Justice League to the screen. Zack Snyder's departure and the expensive rewrites and reshoots have been well-documented, and because of that the film has been dubbed the "Frankenstein project". But, now a new report from The Wrap brings to light some interesting information that might explain why the movie was rushed to release when it could have been pushed and ultimately been a much better movie.
One insider told The Wrap that few at Warner Bros. were actually happy with the finished film, and many believe that the decision not to push back the release date was by far the biggest mistake.
The Wrap's sources claim that WB CEO Kevin Tsujihara and President Toby Emmerich wanted to make sure the bonuses they would be paid before the huge $85 billion dollar deal between Time Warner and AT&T, went through. They were apparently worried that “if they pushed the movie, then their bonuses would have been pushed to the following year and they might not still be at the studio.”
If this is true, then it really dims the spotlight of responsibility on Snyder and Joss Whedon and moves it toward the WB executives, because it sounds like the Justice League's biggest downfall might be good, old-fashioned corporate greed.

When Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released, we will either find out who Rey's parents are or we won't and will have to wait until Episode IX. Either way, Daisy Ridley says she already knows because J.J. Abrams let her in on the secret during the production of The Force Awakens. But in an interview with Rolling Stone The Last Jedi writer-director Rian Johnson revealed that information was never revealed in that movie and Johnson wasn’t told anything regarding that part of the story and was given free reign:
“I wasn’t given any directive as to what that had to be. I was never given the information that she is this or she is that.” Ridley added, “I thought what I was told in the beginning is what it is.”
It's pretty obvious that someone isn’t telling the truth, or there is some confusion on the matter. But the Rolling Stone reporter suspects that Johnson does know.
The idea that Johnson and Abrams somehow landed on the same answer does seem to suggest that Rey’s parents aren’t some random, never-before-seen characters. All that said, Abrams cryptically hints there may have been more coordination between him and Johnson than the latter director has let on, so who knows what’s going on here – they may be messing with us to preserve one of Abrams’ precious mystery boxes.
It does make sense that Johnson wouldn't say anything because if he told the truth and was also given a blank slate with the film, he’d be confirming that we will find out in The Last Jedi. And he can’t do that. I guess we will find out when Episode VIII arrives in theaters in a few weeks. The truth will finally be revealed or we will have to wait another year to find out.
BioPunk is an intense short film that is set in the year 2054. It's explained that this is thirty years after a virus has devastated half the world’s population and "transformed them into something other than human." London has become an unsettling wasteland full of junk peddlers and crazy zealots. The story revolves around hardass determined woman who is doing the best she can at taking care of her younger brother in this nightmarish world.
The short was directed by Liam Garvo and it's a great proof-of-concept short that introduces us to a world that I'd be curious to learn more about. I also want to point out that the short stars Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor. Check it out!
Robot Chicken is back December 10th, and it looks like they have a new holiday special for you to enjoy as well! "There's a sad, sick story behind almost everything here."
Netflix has released a new trailer for Black Mirror Season 4. This one is for the episode called "Black Museum" and it's definitely the craziest looking episode yet!
"Black Museum" stars Catastrophe's Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright (Humans, Ready Player One) and Babs Olusanmokun (Roots, The Defenders), and it was directed by Colm McCarthy.
In the trailer, we see Wright's character happen upon a little roadside museum run by Hodge's character. He starts to give her a little tour and her curiosity is peeked. As the trailer plays out we see that very bad, twisted, and torturous things are going to happen. It seems like this one will contain multiple stories. It's like an anthology episode for an anthology series!
We still have no idea when Black Mirror Season 4 will be released, but while we wait for the announcement, enjoy the trailer! You can also watch the trailer for "Arkangel" here and the trailer for "Crocodile" here. I'm pretty pumped up about this new season!
If you're a fan of Gremlins and it's one of your favorite Christmas movies, you'll be happy to learn that the film is being re-released in theaters starting on December 8th! The event is called Gremlins: Breaking The Rules, and it's definitely something I'd love to take the family to.
I love this movie and I always try to watch it around Christmas time. Now, I'll be able to watch it this year on the big screen! That's pretty rad. There's even a trailer that was released for the screening event that you can watch below!
The most important rule, the rule you can never forget, no matter how much he cries, no matter how much he begs, never feed him after midnight…
The tale of a cute and furry Christmas gift that multiplies into many, many, many terrifying Christmas gifts, GREMLINS is a sublimely perfect mix of comedy and horror. This December, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment presents a movie party celebration of the hilarious and wickedly scary 1984 film, featuring a special conversation with director Joe Dante that’ll take you behind the scenes of this all-time classic.
Beginning life as a spec script by Chris Columbus that was championed by executive producer Steven Spielberg, what’s amazing about GREMLINS is how everything works so, so well. Joe Dante’s cast is splendid, featuring newcomer Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, and the voices of Howie Mandel as Gizmo and Frank Welker as the big bad gremlin Stripe. The magic (and terror) gets brought to life via the pioneering pre-CGI creature work by Chris Walas, all punctuated by composer extraordinaire Jerry Goldsmith’s incredible score.
The movie will screen at various select theaters from December 8th through December 26th. You can see the full list of theaters and corresponding dates right here. Are you going to try and catch a screening!?
