Trailer For Netflix’s New Anime NEO YOKIO with Jaden Smith, Jude Law, and Jason Schwartzman

“Neo Yokio is the greatest city in the world. It is a diverse labyrinth of cultural and architectural innovation. Of course, whenever a city becomes the envy of the world, problems are bound to arise.”

Netflix has released the first trailer for their new six-episode anime series Neo Yokio. The series was created and written by Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend) along with writer and producer Nick Weidenfeld. The series also features a very interesting voice cast that includes Jaden Smith, Jude Law, Susan Sarandon, and Jason Schwartzman.

If Wes Anderson made an anime, this is how it might turn out. It has a slightly similar tone and vibe as his films do and then, of course, there's the addition of Jason Schwartzman. It looks like an interesting and fun anime about a young demon slayer. I'll watch it! Here's a description of the story:

Jaden Smith stars as lovesick Kaz Kaan, the youngest member of a family of “magistocrats” – pink-haired demon slayers who once liberated the city of Neo Yokio. Today, his demon-slaying is barely more than a side-hustle coordinated by his Aunt Agatha (Susan Sarandon) – Kaz himself would rather concern himself with shopping, field hockey and – of course – mending his broken heart.
Always by Kaz’s side are his faithful mecha-butler, Charles (Jude Law), and his inseparable friends Lexy and Gottlieb (The Kid Mero and Desus Nice) as he navigates the complexities of life in Neo Yokio and tries to stay one step ahead of his arch-rival, Neo Yokio’s number one most eligible bachelor, Arcangelo Corelli (Jason Schwartzman).
Things take a mysterious turn when Kaz is drawn into the turbulent world of ex-fashion blogger Helena St. Tessero (Tavi Gevinson), setting in motion a sequence of events that force him to question everything he knows about Neo Yokio.

The anime is a collaboration between Netflix and Japanese anime studios Production IG and Studio Deen, along with Seoul-based animation studio MOI.

All six episodes of Neo Yokio will launch globally on Friday, September 22nd on Netflix. Check out the trailer and let us know if it looks like a anime series you might enjoy,

The Sequel to Stephen King’s IT Moves Forward With The Hiring of Screenwriter Gary Dauberman

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema are moving forward with the sequel to Stephen King's It! They recently hired Gary Dauberman to work on the script. He worked on the script for the first film as well as Annabelle: Creation and is also working on The Nun.

Director Andy Muschietti previously said that he insisted that there be a second film and that he wanted it to be his next movie. At the time, though the studio hadn't given the film a green light. Well, now that a script is in development and it's looking like the movie is going to have a great box office weekend, that sequel will most likely happen.

It would have been an utter shame to only see one-half of this epic story get adapted. The sequel will focus on the adult versions of the characters we will be introduced to in the first film. They will come back together years later as adults to battle It again as It begins to terroize the town of Derry again. When previously talking about the sequel Muschetti said:

”I always insisted that if there is a second part, there would be a dialogue between the two timelines, and that it would be approached like the adult life of the losers, there would be flashbacks that sort of illuminate events that are not told in the first one."

The director has not shot any of these flashback scenes, so he's "praying that the kids don’t grow up!” It was also revealed that the sequel might dive into the history of the town of Derry more. Specifically The Black Spot, which is a deadly fire that broke out at an African American barracks in Derry. There's a good chance that the sequel might open up with that story.

This first part of It opens up in theaters this weekend, so go and see it!

This Amazing Trailer for THE SQUARE is Completely Crazy!

What the hell did I just watch? That's what you'll be asking yourself after watching this amazing trailer for the movie, The Square, from director Ruben Ostlund. It has been a hit in Europe, where everything makes sense.

Ok, but seriously, I'm not sure what to think of this trailer. Some of it is in English while other is in Swedish with subtitles. It is about art... I think. There are moments of the trailer that are funny. At least... I think it was supposed to be funny. I don't know man! I feel like I'm going crazy trying to make sense of this thing.

Just check it out yourself and try to make sense of it. It doesn't really explain what the movie is about, just some funny and weird scenes, that are absurdist and odd. If I were to guess what this movie was about based on the trailer alone I would go with this:

A man has created a work of art that has the power to turn people into gorillas, one man is already starting to turn into a gorilla, and the rich are amused by it. Meanwhile, the man who made the work of art, called "The Square", gets around with lots of women because he's all charming and shit, while his cook just wants everyone to slow down and eat their food at a good pace.... Yup. Sounds about right. Or if you really want to know, here's the synopsis the the filmmaker has given.

Christian is the respected curator of a contemporary art museum, a divorced but devoted father of two who drives an electric car and supports good causes. His next show is “The Square”, an installation which invites passersby to altruism, reminding them of their role as responsible fellow human beings. But sometimes, it is difficult to live up to your own ideals: Christian’s foolish response to the theft of his phone drags him into shameful situations. Meanwhile, the museum's PR agency has created an unexpected campaign for ”The Square”. The response is overblown and sends Christian, as well as the museum, into an existential crisis.

Check out the trailer below to see if you can make any more sense of it than me. I'm sure what I just said was completely wrong, but only time will tell.

Thor Wants to Call His New Team “The Revengers” in Awesome New Trailer For THOR: RAGNAROK

Marvel has dropped a bring new extended promo spot for Thor: Ragnarok and this thing is loaded with some awesome new footage that is sure to make fans very happy. One of my favorite parts of the trailer, though, is when Valkyrie asks Thor what the name of his team is and he responds with "The Revengers." That made me laugh. Anyway, enjoy the new trailer! There's plenty of other stuff in it that will put a smile on your face! Check it out!

Fox’s X-FORCE Movie Will Be Written and Directed By Drew Goddard!

Fox has officially hired The Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard to write and direct their X-Force movie! Goddard also worked on Marvel's Daredevil and The Defenders, so he seems like a great choice!

It's been confirmed that X-Force will continue the adventures of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Cable (Josh Brolin) as they lead "a Black Ops force of down and dirty mutant warriors who are far more ruthless than their X-Men counterparts." I think it's a safe bet that Domino (Zazie Beetz) will get in on the action as well.

Goddard has done a lot of great work in his career and I'm excited that he'll be taking on the project. I think he's a great choice that will do some badass things with these characters!

There's a good chance that the film will fall into the rated R category. Like Deadpool and Logan, I don't think they'll want to hold anything back with these edgy Marvel characters. Some of those other characters are rumored to be Sunspot, Feral, and Shatterstar.

Goddard was originally supposed to write and direct Sony Pictures' Sinister Six movie, but as you know that fell apart. It's good to see that he's finally got an awesome comic book movie of his own to work on!

Goddard will next direct Bad Times at the El Royale with Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges, and he will get right to work on X-Force as soon as he's done with it.

Fox is also developing a New Mutants film with The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone and David Leitch recently wrapped production on Deadpool 2. Then there's X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which is being directed by Simon Kinberg.

Lots of fun X-Men films coming, but I'm mostly excited for Deadpool and the X-Force!

The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones

Details Revealed For THE PURGE: THE ISLAND, Which Will Tell The Story of the First Purge Night

There's a fourth Purge movie in the works called The Purge: The Island and during a recent interview with Vulture, writer and director James DeMonaco opened up about the direction he plans on taking the story.

This next movie will be a prequel and it will tell the story of the very first, experimental Purge night. DeMonaco says:

“I said it’s the first experimental Purge, which I don’t know if I was supposed to say, but now I’ve said it, so you have it. Next July 4, it’ll be coming.”

According to the report, the film will be set on Staten Island and will "demonstrate how the New Founding Fathers’s batshit crazy plan to rescue a dying economy turned into a national holiday in which all crime — including rape and murder — is legal for one whole night each year."

For the most part, I've enjoyed the films in the Purge franchise and I've always been curious about how this whole Purge thing got started. So... I'm in! I'm interested in seeing how the madness of this whole thing came together.

He goes on to reveal that cash incentives were offered to the first participants of The Purge. He explains:

“I was wondering how you get people to stay for the first Purge, and what they do is they start monetizing it. People from Staten Island can easily go to Brooklyn for the evening, so what they do is start promising very decent sums of money for the very poor people in the neighborhood. It becomes a monetization of murder and violence, incentivizing killing and keeping people around for them to be victims. So you see the inception of how grotesque the idea of the Purge is, and the manipulation upon the society.”

DeMonaco then explains the basic story arc of the main character who is described as being like Clint Eastwood's character from Unforgiven

“What’s fun too is there’s an anti-hero. More than the previous films, there’s a singular hero in this movie. This is one man’s journey, William, an anti-hero [who] was inspired by Eastwood in Unforgiven, so it’s this very cool, modern kind of badass who redeems himself through the story.”

After saying that The Purge: The Island would be the most “crowd-pleasing” of the Purge films and saying “It’s so kick ass in its third act." He opens up a bit about the Purge TV series saying that it will be set in the middle period of the Purge timeline between the very first “experimental purge” and the events of Election Year.

“The movies are more like events. In the TV show I think we’re slowing it down, and we’re using this flashback structure to enter into the non-Purge lives of these people. We’re going back six months or two years or into their childhood to see some things that might’ve fed into their decision-making on this particular Purge … Ten hours is allowing us to get deeper into character and deeper into why people would actually consider violence as an option ever.”

If your a fan of the Purge franchise, there's a lot of cool stuff coming. The series and the film will arrive sometime next year. I'll be looking forward to them.

The Police Get Involved After an IT-Inspired Balloon Prank Terrorizes a Pennsylvania Town

Someone, or SOMETHING, is tying red balloons to sewer grates all over the small Pennsylvania town of Lititz and the police don't like that they are being called to remove them.

The Lititz police department on Tuesday posted photos on their facebook page showing a series of red balloons tied to a pair of sewer grates.

As we know, the red balloon is the calling card of Pennywise, the child-eating, sewer-dwelling clown from Stephen King's horror novel It. The highly anticipated theatrical version of that book opens in theaters this Friday.

The Lititz police department writes they appreciate the prankster's creativity but officers were "completely terrified" while removing the balloons and want the jokester to stop spreading the prank all over town.

In addition to asking the person responsible to stop, police also suggest people watch the IT trailers with all the lights turned on and the volume turned low.

They cleverly end their post with a famous line from the book: "You'll float too."
