Warner Bros. previously announced that they were developing an untitled animated film that would be released on June 1st, 2018. Well, Deadline is now reporting that the release date of that film has been moved to July 27th, and revealed that the film is a feature-length Teen Titans Go! movie!
I've gotta be honest, I wasn't expecting to see a Teen Titans Go! movie. There aren't a lot of details on the project, but it’s most likely an extension of the popular animated series that airs on Cartoon Network. The Teen Titans Go! series, which focuses on the core team of characters such as Robin, Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy and Starfire, has been on the air since 2013. It's coming up on its 200th episode.
I don't watch the series regularly, but from what I have seen, it looks like a fun show that the kids enjoy. I'm sure any fan of the series will be happy to hear that it will be getting its own movie and that they'll get to see it in theaters.
With all of the dark PG-13 DCEU films that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have been releasing, I guess they felt they needed to bring the lighter part of their DC brand to the theaters for the kids.
Will you be headed to the theater to watch Teen Titans Go!?
