I've got some great news for those of you who didn't get their hands on an NES Classic! Nintendo has announced that they will be releasing more of them next year in 2018. That's right, after saying they wouldn't make anymore, Nintendo plans on resurrecting it from the dead and this time they will be ready for the popular demand!
The mini retro console is scheduled to be released on September 29th of 2018 and it will include 30 games including Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, and more. This is on top of the SNES Classic, which is supposed to be released September 29th, 2017.
I'm just happy that I'll have a chance to finally get one! I'm definitely going to grab one for myself. Are you?!
Here's the official press release that Nintendo released:
Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.
In addition, more units of Super NES Classic Edition will ship on its Sept. 29 launch day in the U.S. than were shipped of NES Classic Edition all last year, with subsequent shipments arriving in stores regularly. Fans have shown their unbridled enthusiasm for these Classic Edition systems, so Nintendo is working to put many more of them on store shelves.
The Super NES Classic Edition system features 21 legendary Super NES games such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. Launching on Sept. 29 at a suggested retail price of only $79.99, Super NES Classic Edition plugs directly into the TV using the provided HDMI cable, and comes with two wired controllers.
Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.
NES Classic Edition features 30 classic NES games such as the original Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Donkey Kong.
I never really cared much for Black Manta, but after listening to him roast a bulk of the Injustice 2 cast, I think I want to check out more of his comic adventures! Check out his comebacks to heroes and villains alike, and pick up Injustice 2 right now.
I had absolutely no idea that director Spike Jonze (Her, Where The Wild Things Are) was up to direct Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura 2. It's true, though! According to Carrey, the director came in and "pitched all kinds of shit." Ultimately Jonze didn't get the gig, but Carrey has regretted not hiring him ever since.
Carrey shared the story at the Toronto International Film Festival (via ScreenCrush) where he was promoting the new documentary he did with Jonze’s called Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond. Here's what he said:
“I’ve been wanting to do something with Spike forever. I was stupid enough to turn him down to direct Ace [Ventura] 2, cause I had no idea who he was. And he came in and pitched all kinds of shit, and he was about to take over the world and I didn’t know it. I was like ‘I don’t know, this guy’s new.’ And I’ve been kicking myself ever since.”
That would have been Jonze's big break, but that big break came with the film Being John Malkovich, which is a great movie! I've always loved Jonze's crazy, fun style and I wonder what kind of "weird shit" that he would have done with Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls because the movie already contained lots of weird shit like that insane rhino scene that you can watch below.
Maybe now that Carrey and Jonze are working together, somewhere down the line they will get to do some "weird shit" together. It'd be great to see them team up for some kind of crazy feature film. Maybe they can come back and do Ace Ventura 3!
Over the last few months, Michelle Rodriguez has been speaking out for better roles for women in the Fast & Furiousfranchise. But now, Rodriguez told The Hollywood Reporterthat its not likely she will leave the blockbuster franchise anytime soon, even as she advocates for it to evolve. Even saying that Vin Diesel who is also a producer on the F&F films would push for her to stay.
This new revelation from Rodriguez comes after a passionate Instagram post in June where she said “I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise.” She then followed that up with a friendly appearance on Diesel’s Instagram a week later, clarifying their friendship and their interest in the same issues.
“Yes, you’re there to entertain people, but when you’re on that scale you also have a responsibility. I won’t accept anything else, and Vin won’t accept anything else. He knows, he gets it.”
Fast & Furious 9 is set to be released on April 19, 2019.
Following the announcement that J.J. Abrams would come in to write and direct Star Wars: Episode IX, Lucasfilm has announced that the release of the film has been delayed.
The final chapter in the new Star Wars trilogy was set to be released on May 24th, 2019. The movie will now open in theaters on December 20th, 2019. That same month of 2019, we will see the released of Wonder Woman 2 on December 13th, the big screen adaptation of the musical Wicked, and the feature film adaptation of Masters of the Universe will both come out on December 25th.
There seems to be a lot of mixed reactions from fans regarding Abrams' involvement with Episode IX, but for the most part, it seems like fans are happy with the choice of bringing him back. Personally, I was hoping Rian Johnson would take it, but I'm sure Abrams will deliver a great conclusion, so I'm not too worried.
Director Josh Boone recently posted a photo on Instagram of the slate that he's using while directing The New Mutants film for Fox. The slate features a bloody logo for the film and he announces that they are in their final week of production.
It was rumored last week that the film might have already completed shooting. The rumor was close! It's pretty crazy that we haven't really heard or seen anything from the film since it started shooting. This slate gives us our first photo from the production.
So what up with the bloody logo? Well, you may recall Boone talking about the movie a few months ago in which he explained The New Mutants was going to be a "full-fledged horror" film.
“We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We’re trying to do something very, very different.”
He also offered up some plot details saying:
"Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves."
I'm actually really excited about this movie. I think it's going to deliver something very unique and fun. It definitely sounds like something we haven't really seen yet from a comic book movie. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
The film stars Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Blu Hunt asDani Moonstar, and Henry Zaga as Sunspot.
New Mutants is set to hit theaters on April 13, 2018.
If Squidward and Larry David had a baby, it would be the most cynical thing this world has ever seen. That opening line gave me a weird visual, but honeslty I'd probably read a fanfiction about it. In any case, if you came here to see Squidward talk with Larry David's voice, you've come to the right place. Check it out below.
Believe it or not, Quentin Tarantino had plans back in the day to make a Luke Cage movie! Obviously, it never happened, and it all boiled down to a conversation with friends that swore him off the idea and made him rethink how he would approach a superhero film if he ever did one.
Listen to Tarantino discuss the idea below and let us know what superhero film you think he would be perfect for!
This news is a little dated, but I felt guilty not letting the community know about an awesome deal for one of the hottest tabletop card games out right now! Star Wars Destiny is an easy to pick up, difficult to master fast-paced card game, and Fantasy Flight Games just launched a two player bundle for those who want to pick up the game to teach a friend.
If you don't have a friend to learn with, this bundle also allows you to own a Light side starter deck and Dark side starter deck at a discount as opposed to if you were to purchase them separately. I personally love playing the game, although the fact the game uses booster packs does make me wary of jumping full force into the gaming scene as I don't want to go broke.
Check out the simple rules of how to play in the video below, and hit the button after that to take advantage of this deal and get in on this fun game!

I've got a new beautifully animated short film for you to watch today called Burn Out. It comes from Gobelins animation school and this is the synopsis that came along with the short:
Stella, a space mechanician, has broken down and ended on a desert planet. While she is in despair, a little girl appears out of nowhere. Following the child into a tunnel, in the depths of the planet, she discovers a big cave full of objects that belonged to her, reminding her the dreams she has left behind.
This is a very sweet story about not giving up on your dreams and it's wonderfully executed. I know I still have dreams of things that I want to accomplish in life. Sometimes it gets frustrating when you try and try but things never seem to happen. That's just a part of life. We learn from our failures and move forward. Yeah, it's hard, but it's supposed to be!
Anyway, if any of you have any dreams in life, don't give up on them no matter how hard or frustrating it might be to obtain.
