This sweded trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is as awesomely home made as home made can get! The trailer is packed full of the cheapest and cheesiest costumes, props, and visual effects. That's what makes it so damn fun! I especially enjoyed how they portray The Hulk. It definitely offers up some good laughs.
Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for David Fincher's upcoming series Mindhunter. The series is set in 1979 and it follows two FBI agents, Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), who are trying to understand the mindset of serial killers.
In this teaser, right before Holden goes to meet with a serial killer, Bill scares the shit out of him when telling him what will happen if he brings a gun into the room with him when meeting with the killer. He tells him that the killer will take the gun, kill him, and then have sex with his face. It's a very dark kind of humor, which is something that Fincher is great at.
The series is an adaptation of the 1996 nonfiction novel by Mark Olshaker and John Douglas‘ called "Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit." I've provided a description of that book below the teaser.
Mindhunter also stars Anna Torv (Fringe) and Hannah Gross (Unless). It was directed by Fincher, Asif Kapadia (Amy, Senna), Tobias Lindholm (A War, A Hijacking) and Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror, U Want Me 2 Kill Him?).
The series is set to hit the streaming service October 13th.
Here's the book description:
In chilling detail, the legendary Mindhunter takes us behind the scenes of some of his most gruesome, fascinating, and challenging cases—and into the darkest recesses of our worst nightmares.
During his twenty-five year career with the Investigative Support Unit, Special Agent John Douglas became a legendary figure in law enforcement, pursuing some of the most notorious and sadistic serial killers of our time: the man who hunted prostitutes for sport in the woods of Alaska, the Atlanta child murderer, and Seattle's Green River killer, the case that nearly cost Douglas his life.
As the model for Jack Crawford in The Silence of the Lambs, Douglas has confronted, interviewed, and studied scores of serial killers and assassins, including Charles Manson, Ted Bundy, and Ed Gein, who dressed himself in his victims' peeled skin. Using his uncanny ability to become both predator and prey, Douglas examines each crime scene, reliving both the killer's and the victim's actions in his mind, creating their profiles, describing their habits, and predicting their next moves.

A great red-band trailer has been released for a new comedy called Crash Pad. The film has a fantastic cast that includes Domhnall Gleeson, Christina Applegate, and Thomas Haden Church. This actually looks like it could be a damn funny flick. Here's the synopsis:
A hopeless romantic, who thinks he's found true love with an older woman, learns that she's married and the fling is merely an instrument of revenge against her neglectful husband. He threatens to blackmail her by telling her husband, but his plan backfires when the husband decides the best way to get back at his wife is to move in and adopt the romantic's slacker lifestyle.
There are a few cheeseball moments in the trailer, but I really do love this cast and hope that this will end up being a decent comedy that will bring the laughs. Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know if it looks like something you'd enjoy.
Crash Pad was directed by Kevin Tent, and this is his first time directing a feature film on his own. The screenplay is written by Jeremy Catalino and it will be released in select theaters on October 27th. it will then hit VOD on September 25th.
FX has released a new extended promo spot for American Horror Story: Cult and it's quite chaotic and maddening. Most of it seems like an insane kind of propaganda video trying to get you join their crazy clown cult. There's also a bit of footage from the series in the spot as well.
I'm really curious about this next season of American Horror Story. I'm definitely intrigued by everything that I've seen. I love the whole creepy clown horror vibe to it and I hope it delivers another awesome season!
American Horror Story: Cult stars Billy Eichner as Harrison Wilton, Alison Pill as Ivy Mayfair-Richards, Billie Lourd as Winter Anderson, Cheyenne Jackson as Dr. Rudy Vincent, and Colton Haynes as Detective Samuels. The season will also star returning cast members Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, and Adina Porter.
The series is set to premiere on September 5th.
LOST star Terry O'Quinn is the latest actor to join Stephen King and J.J. Abrams' new Hulu series Castle Rock. According to Deadline, Quinn will take on the role of a character named Dale Lacy, who is described as "a pillar of the community in the town of Castle Rock." I've always enjoyed the film and TV work that O'QUinn has been a part of and it's great to see him get another awesome TV gig!
O'Quinn joins a great cast of actors that also includes Scott Glenn, Andre Holland (Moonlight), Sissy Spacek, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, and Bill Skarsgard.
Castle Rock is a 10-episode psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse. It "combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. As a series, Castle Rock aims to explores various themes and worlds, uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories."
The Castle Rock project comes from writers and executive producers Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason (Manhattan). This is easily one of my most anticipated new series and I can't wait to see it!
I've been keeping up with Secret Empire since the beginning. I've been intrigued at every step. It shows a character who we have known and loved for years in quite a different light. What Steve Rogers would have been like if he was secretly raised Hydra. One of the most important things was that he wasn't completely evil when he took over. He had some good in him, as he was worthy enough to lift Mjolnir. But, it looks like he's been going down a dark path.
The New York Times recently revealed a special scene from the newest issue of the Secret Empire comic which will be released on the 30th. The scene showed the good ol' Cap that we know and love beating the ever loving crap out of Hydra Cap with none other than Mjolnir. Here is the art that was revealed:
Now, as of writing, I haven't read the new comic, so I don't know how good Cap comes back or how he gets Mjolnir. Last I saw Hydra Cap had put on a super suit powered by the Cosmic Cube and was ready to do some hero hunting. I'm excited to read the finale. It should be exciting to see what happens to everyone and the aftermath of this Hydra invasion. It has been fun to see Hydra prominently featured as a villain, as well as seeing a different side to Hydra that resonates with America nowadays.
Axel Alonso, Marvel’s editor in chief talked about Secret Empire saying:
"We understood the story would challenge readers, but we also know how it ended. We also thought the story had something important to say about democracy, freedom and the core American values that Captain America embodies.”
I'm excited to read it, and we'll be sure to give a recap of the entire event once it is over.
Darren Aronofsky's latest film mother! has already made a splash with its trailers, and those hungry for more footage are in luck as a Redditor discovered a secret when they fooled with the film's latest digital poster, which you can see above.
That hidden URL (which you can view right here) reveals a secret scene when you click the kaleidoscope image. The scene in question is the full scene in which the woman asks Jennifer Lawrence's character whether or not she wants children. I won't spoil it for anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled, but it's definitely interesting to see the scene in full context as it plays out differently than the trailer might indicate.
mother! is set to open September 15th, are you going to watch it?

Netflix has released a full trailer for Jerry Seinfeld's upcoming Netflix comedy special, Jerry Before Seinfeld. If you are a fan of the series Seinfeld and grew up enjoying his style of comedy, this is something you won't want to miss. I've been a fan of Seinfeld since I teen growing up watching his hilarious classic series. If you're a fan of Captain America: The Winter Solider and Edgar Wright's Baby Driver, you're going to love this trailer that brings the two films together! As you'll see, it came together really well!
